Do you throw food away if you can't finish it? (Waster)

Keep it and eat leftovers? (Keeper?)

Or finish it even if you feel sick after! (Finisher)

I know it's bad but I'm a waster - I always cook too much by accident and ALWAYS throw it away if I can't finish it or no one wants it. :goodvibes

I'm typically a waster, even though I try to be a keeper. I also try very hard not to be a finisher. Most of the time I'll wrap things up to eat later, but then I'm not usually in the mood to eat something twice in a row (except Chinese food for some reason).

I guess I'd be classified as a keeper. I always cook in huge quantities, then we either use the leftovers for lunch another day, freeze it, or toward the end of the week we have what we call "short-order cook day." :teeth:

I get all the leftovers from the week out and then you get to pick your meal. One person might have sausage and peppers with garlic mashed potatos, another one might have chili in a bread bowl, and someone else can have spaghetti. DH and DD love it. It's like a restaurant--they get to choose from the menu and then I heat it up.

I am none of the above. I am a "Giver."

Meaning my fiance always finishes my plate! ;)

Guess that's why he's put on 15 pounds in 2 years....

Depends on what i made i would say mostly a waster but with some stuff a keeper

I'm the only one in the family that will eat leftovers, so if it's something I like, and there's enough for a meal, I'll keep it. Otherwise, it gets thrown away.

One of my SIL's is a keeper to the extreme! Even if it's only a couple of teaspoons, she'll save it. Her refrigerator is full of little containers of stuff of varying ages. Yuck. When she visits, she'll start to do the same. I tell her if SHE isn't going to eat it for lunch the next day, she'd better toss it.

Both she and DH refuse to finish something off. They'll leave less than a serving of peanut butter, chips, cereal, etc. so that they won't "eat it ALL."

Fortunately DH and DS love leftovers. So much so that I usually make an extra portion on purpose for them! :rotfl:

I am a waster but since my DH will always eat my leftovers, I guess I could be a keeper too! :)

I am a keeper, I can't throw anything away unless I keep it for a few days. I don't feel so bad about throwing it away then.

After a few days if we don't eat all the leftovers then I become a waster.

I absolutly refuse to eat leftovers. I have no idea why, but I won't eat em. (I will eat pizza that is left over, but it can't be reheated).
I don't eat until I'm sick, I usually give what I don't eat to the dog, or throw it away.
I guess I am a waster.

I have finally learned to cook for just two, so none gets thrown away, there are no left overs and just enough to eat without over eating.

Try to be a keeper but err on the side of waster ever since doing Microbiology testing for a food company. My Mil would keep leftovers 7-10 days and we would get sick Every time we visited. Leftovers gets 3 days max and if food is left on the counter more than an hour it gets tossed.

Hi,

I'm a finisher. Hardly ever have any leftovers. When I eat out, I don't need a doggy bag.

I'm a keeper, I swear I'm not happy unless there is a doggie bag :dog:

Me too, cept we give to the dog. She appreciates it!

Funny thing though, if we give her a piece of say a sub, she'll spit out the tiniest pieces of lettuce. Lettuce I wouldn't even think she'd be able to taste, let alone pick out, yet give her some salad and she'll gobble it right up. :rotfl:

My inlaws keep everything until it is gone...no matter now long that is. :( I think that is why DH pretty much refuses to eat leftovers. I grew up with LO night at least once a week. It is ok but I stopped making more dishes for myself by putting everything in tupperware. It just gets thrown out.
