I realize not everyone trades on vmk. So this poll will not effect everyone.
And I think we all trade for different reasons when we do.
Traders often are just looking for good deals, the ultimate rare.
Collectors normally trade for things they collect, possibly put them in a room like I do and dont trade that item again.

Which are you..........trader or collector?

ME..........for sure a collector. Once I trade for an item I like, its hidden in my special room lol

Hmm I'll say im in the middle, because i just collected all pirate pins from last year and this year, and then again i trade for good rare items. :confused3

I'm a bit of both. I'm actually more of a collector. I'm trying to collect at least one of everything. For me to do that, I have to trade. No way around trading for me.

i'm kinda in the middle but i think i'm more on the collectors side. For some reason i never make the right trade. lol

I'd love to be a trader but after all these stories, and having been had once or twice myself, I'm too scared to trade-however zsmile will and does trade any time any place!

Im mostly a collector, but I trade alot, made complicated by all my pins and clothing articles.

As for me, I am DEFINITELY a Trader!! I go around on the Boards here and sometimes in guest rooms, looking for good deals. I'm like a vintage shopper, seriously. I once had Inferno, traded it for Sparrow Costume, Stitch Hat, Gold Snowman, Bird Hat, and Full Gray Mansion. That was because I was more into furniture and costumes rather than magic because I see it as a status sort of thing. Then, I eventually traded my stitch hat for sparrow costume and a few other rare items, (that was a while back and it wasn't as rare as it used to be. Now you can easily get 3 sparrow's for it.) I traded both my Sparrow costumes piece by piece, missed my little wittle sparrow lol, and traded back for it. So I've owned the Sparrow Costume 3 times. As you can see I can't just keep my new items and store them in a "secret safe." I HAVE to keep trading lol. But, for the moment, my sparrow is off the market!

I'm a pin and room collector, anything else doesnt matter so i trade away rarefurnishings or clothing for pins :)

I said I never trade but actually I do GIFT and have accepted some gifts from friends. But I don't trade other than one time and it went very well (with a good friend I know in real life)

I'm definitely a collector, I don't have many "rare" items but I find it hard to part with anything I own. That's why I usually trade credits for items.

I'm a collector, mainly pins and hats. I'm not really a trader because I buy what I want. Sometimes I buy two of everything, but I end up using whatever I buy. The things that I want but have to trade for, I have things that could be traded for them, but I want to keep those items. So, I tend to stay away from trading.

I used to be a pure collector. Only going after the rarest of items in the game. With the re-release of items into the game I decided to go after items I didnt think would return or be released. I turned those into infernos and eventually green flips as well.

Now I do a little of both, just for fun I suppose, and to store things away waiting to strike at my next inferno.

I'm more of a collector, but every VMKer that's a collector is actually a little of both. You pretty much HAVE to be a trader to be a collector, though I guess the reverse isn't always true.

Seems like we have more collectors than actual traders. Right now Im on a search for cursed storm and pirate q. So my collections vary quite a bit.

I am more of a collector than a trader. My goal for a long time was to have all the pins in vmk. When I finally traded for the HKDL Disneyland and Stitch pins I completed my collection. Even though I dont have the reward pins I still consider my collection complete of pins that were quest, host prize or buyable. Since I really don't collect anything else I am not doing alot of trading. When I trade now it might be for buyable things I need for a room I am working on or if I am looking for a particular item to gift a friend.

Well, if you think about it, you have to be a trader to be a collector.

How would you get your items? :upsidedow

True you do have to be a trader to be a collector. But you dont have to be a collector to be a trader. I think with this poll he was curious to see if people do more trading to collect a certain type of item such as hats, pins or furniture. Or are they the kind of trader who trades all the time trying to find the best possible deal for your items. Then go trade those items for others when you find the best possible deal and never really keeping the items you are trading.

To me, that's just kind of pointless.

But, that's just my opinion.

I trade when I have extras..

and then I trade my extras to collect items..

Like how I want one of each hat on vmk.
