I am but not to the point of "sleeping with the enemy" or "As good as it gets" OCD levels but if I see a crooked picture, I straighten it out. Even if it's not mine! I hate crooked towels on the towel rack. My dfi's family leaves them in heap. Ugh! We keep a box of wipes on the toilet tank top. If it's crooked, I straighten it out. Sometimes I straighten out piles of papers or other things but not everything.

Not even remotely. Sorry; I'll make a note not to ask you to dinner. ;)

Yup. Take me to a restaurant and I will straighten out the salt and pepper shakers nicely with the little thing that holds the sugar packets.....

And I'm the same about pictures...

I might have a lot of cluttler, but it's in nice straight piles! ;)

yes - but not to that point. Picture frames - yes...towels or anything hidden behind a door - couldn't care less. SO, I guess some things yes, other things no. I kinda like everything in its place, but it doesn't have to always be just so.:)

I don't even notice other people's stuff and wouldn't mess with it - maybe a really crooked picture on a wall, but that's it....

Charade, at last! We have something in common! LOL! I am most definitely a straighter outer like you. It's an illness I tell ya.

I straighten at my own home, but not at someone else's. I used to straighten at the grocery stores - especially at the checkout counters. Now my 7 year old is doing it. :rotfl2:

Yes. My family members move the pictures on the wall to mess with my head.

With the pictures it's an issue of wanting them to look right. With other things, it's simply an issue of me wanting things in their place so I can go on knowing what's there and easily find things that are missing. I rarely lose things and usually can tell people exactly where eveything is in the house.

Oh, yes. DH gets upset when he's cooking becuase I'll put the butter away before he's used it.

The other day we were in a model home and I instinctively straightened a very crooked picture. The sales associate looked at me as though I had three heads! My mental processing went something like, "How on earth can you walk by that day in and day out and not have it bother you!?" I am definitely a straightener outer!

I do what you do and then some but nothing that causes me concern. Recently my sisters and I got on the same subject and we are shocked after naming a few OCD traits how similar we are. I find it very interesting. I wonder if its more common in women. I'm picky about buttering or spreading something on bread/toast. I make an art of it! I also straighten everything and must correct a crooked anything. And yes neat piles are more pleasant!:rotfl: :rotfl2: :lmao:

when i read the title...
i'm thinking do you straighten up.....and not actually clean and scrub:confused3

Cause thats what i do...if i straighten something...
it's clean:lmao: :rotfl2:

i love my cleaning lady....dont know if she loves me:rotfl:

In my own home? Oh yes!! Towels have to be hanging straight on the rods, the dishcloth in the sink has to be even on both sides, the tissue boxes have to be straight, pictures/calendars on the walls, piles of magazines or papers, throw rugs on the floor, etc.

In someone else's home? I would never touch their stuff to straighten it.

that's so funny - my DD does to - as soon as she was able to walk, she would go into the Disney store and "sort" the bins with the magic towels and smaller toys!!!!:)

Yes, If I don't know someone well, I force myself to ignore it however or I do it when they aren't looking. Crooked pictures are the worst. ;)

I'm definitely not a putter-awayer (that just doesn't even look right! LOL!) That's my DH. I can never find my shoes where I left them. And never leave a drink unattended in our house - you've been warned!!!

I always reset the table when we go out to dinner. With the exception of my youngest son, we're all lefties, so I feel compelled to straighten the cutlery to our liking.

I also clean up for the waitress. I like to make nice piles for her to pick up rather than have to reach all over us and have to make several trips.

Yes.

All pantry items must be facing the same direction and lined up neatly. Same goes for anything in my desk drawer. Pencils and pens must be points down, or it bugs me. I could go on for days.... :rotfl:

I blame my mother. She's the same way. Our worst moment was when DSis was getting married at a B&B a few years ago. We walked in and the first thing we both noticed was that the fringe on the area rug was all messed up. This was the only time I've ever straightened anything in someone else's place. :teeth:

Hi, my name is Beth, and I am a Straightener.

The worst to me is crooked pictures. I will straighten these in other people's homes.
