Hehehehehehehehe!!!!

The season is almost upon us! Those lovely shades of red, yellow, orange and maroon gently descend upon the landscape and turn into a crunchy, crunchy brown bunch of crumbs! Get the picture????

So .......... how do you handle the descent of the leaf monsters??? Do you RAKE, RAKE, RAKE with calloused hands and breaking back.....

Or do you BLOW, BLOW, BLOW making more noise than any human being ever was intended to????

Sorry to bring this up so soon....but....hey.....I'm a compulsive RAKE, RAKE, RAKER!!!!

I just love it! (I know....throw the garden clippers at me now.....):p :p :p

After one season of raking, I splurged on a blower/vac.....LOVE IT!

After letting the fall winds blow a bit and the mower suck up as much as possible I do a combo blow, rake, blow rake rake.

I use the Weed Eater gas powered leaf blower. Extremely light to use, just like their line trimmer.

A raking I must do, a raking I must do
Geen-ah re-mind-ed me
I raking I must do!!!

Thanks a bunch Gina!!!

I USED to love raking, now it is mostly a chore!

(Although I do cheat a little bit and use the mower if I get at it early enough)

S'matter of fact, I raked out the far, far back corner of the property today. A spot I NEVER ever got to before. My poor calloused hand, my poor calloused hands....

We enlist the help of the kids. They love to rake. The benefit of raking is, of course, playing in the leaves. They love to bury each other and ride their bikes/toys through them. The benefit for us is the help (as much as 2 & 7 Year olds can be) and when they are done playing, we have less leaves to bag up because they've been crumpled over and over. The once huge pile is reduced to a little pile and the crumbs leave a nice little mulch in the lawn. Have never found the "mulch" to hurt the grass....we hope it helps a bit.

I still remember when our 1st DS was born and we finally brought him home from the hospital -- all 4.0 pounds of him. We bundled him up in a white snowsuit we received for him and placed him on a pile of leaves. He looked like the stay-pull marshmallow man with his little arms sticking out to the side. A very fond memory. Ahhh, fall is coming.:D

I never rake in the fall. I have a mulching mower that grinds and bags whatever fall from the trees.

The leaves and pine needles that fall into the flower areas I leave till early spring.

I use the lawnmower also, but where I live, the leaves usually just blow through the yard...:)

Awww....very cute cgcw! :)

We use the lawnmower but have to get the rake out for some hard to get areas. Very fews trees in our yard, just some shrubs. That's good in the fall but sad in the summer (no shade) in the front.
I did plant a burning bush out back and am looking forward to its pretty red leaves this year.:D
