Am I a Practicing Christian? No, not at this time.

Do I consider myself a Christian? Um......I don't know! :o

Not sure on lots of things.

Well, I do believe that Jesus Christ was an awesome individual and definitely had some wonderful things to teach.

However, having been raised Catholic, gone to Catholic school and forced to attend church, didn't make me embrace the religion thing at all. Too many hypocritical people that don't follow what Jesus had tried to teach.

Not to say that ALL Catholics/Christians are this way just the ones that I have come across.

Anyway, its the organized religion thing that gets me. I think that one's relationship with their God is a very personal thing. I don't think that how you view your higher power matters much, as long as you try to be a good person.

Its not the religion that matters, its the relationship. Please don't let your past experiences with religion bar your way to a relationship with God. He's the true source of strength, joy and love.

I didn't say that I don't believe in God, I just don't believe in organized religion.

I think that a relationship with a higher power is very important, sometimes its the only thing that can get a person through the rough times that we have to go through.

Like Lorij stated, being a christian is about a relationship with Jesus Christ. Being a christian simply means being Chirst-Like. Accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior and trying to live for Christ everyday. In every church there is imperfection because there was only one person to walk this earch sin free and was Jesus. The church isn't perfect and neither are the people in the church. The great thing about being a christian is know when I have done something wrong all I have to do is just ask Christ to forgive me and He will because that is what His Word says. I am not even close to being perfect but the great thing is, Jesus loves me anyway. We love Him because He first loved us.

I'm a Christian and while I haven't been attending church lately - I was not speaking to God - I'm coming around. I am once again praying and it's not in the form of "You know what, God? Go _____ yourself." Of course a good friend pointed out that this was a form of prayer too and I realized perhaps I should dial it down a little. Anyway, I have not returned to church, but do plan to as the holidays are approaching and I always feel better and more at peace when I've been to church.

In all honesty I do feel that God has spent the last few months laughing at me, and not in a bad way!

Erin :D

I consider myself to be Christian, but I don't belong to or go to a church. I don't see myself ever belonging to an organized church or religion again. (I was raised Catholic btw.) I think religion and my relationship with God is a personal thing, and I don't feel the need to practice it with a bunch of other people. I know some people get something out of that, but it's the opposite for me. I admit part of the reason I feel this way is because I am sick to death of all the FAKE Christians out there...and there are a lot. :(

yes..still not perfect
i am not sure i understand practicing with other people at church??
It was my understanding we were there worship and give thanks.:wave2:

Yup, Jesus Christ is my Lord and Saviour! Hallelujuh! :D

yup i practice all the time,, one of these days i'll get it right too:)
btw i am considering taking my story and turning it into a career in inspiration teaching and speaking, and entering the ministry, however i am very open mindsed with my beliefs and i firmly believe your relationship with God, by what ever name you call the one true power, is a one on one thing and does not require a weekly visit to a building, its my understanding that the church is the body of people who believe and work towards the same end. btw our best friends are naturalists ( close to native american spiritualism)

No, I do not consider myself a Christian in any way. I was raised Catholic, and I have since completely separated from that church. I was never so glad as when all the terrible things about the Catholic church FINALLY came out in the open here a few years ago. Every time another church is shut down and sold off, I feel like it's a victory for every kid who was ever abused by the church. That "religion" ruined religion for me for life.
