Are you a Morning person?

I used to be a night owl....moved from the East Coast to the West coast and married a morningerson. Now the whole family is a group of early risers. I naturally wake up at about 6:15 EVERY morning. On days I can sleep in, I get up as late as 7:15!!!

If we are staying at DL, I have NO problem popping out of bed on time for rope drop. If we are driving up from San Diego...it's a lot harder!! We still do it about half the time!!!!

I'm a night owl ~ but I have no problem gettin' to the gate 1st thing, besides 8am CA time is 9am for me! For our trip in Dec. we'll get there after park opening our 1st day, day 2 is a MM which we can't utilize (AP's) so day 3 (Wed ~ no MM) we'll get there early, day 4 is another MM day. Heck DL doesn't open till 9 am on days 3 & 4 of our trip.

Family of night owls.....we will make one EE to MK in a 5 day trip, and at least one on time opening for DCA. All the rest are sleep in !

I am not really a morning person, I am slow and sluggish when it comes to actually rolling out of bed AND getting ready however when at DL, I am always up no later 7 - 7:30.

I think it has something to do with the fact that I am always on the go-go-go at DL and by the time I get back to my hotel, I just hit my bed and I'm snoring 30 seconds later. I get such a good sleep from being exhausted that by the time the morning rolls around, I'm ready and roaring to go!

im always the last to go to sleep and the first to get up when at disney. At home im only a morning person because i have to.

Like many others, our family are complete night owls, always have been. I function my best around 10 p.m. However, when I'm at DLR or WDW, I have the amazing capacity to jump out of bed wide-eyed and alert at 6 a.m. and can ready to go out the door in 20 minutes. I image it's because I have a lot of motivation to get going. That said, I'm beat at midnight from going hard all day.

I'm not a morning person, I'm a definate night owl. However (and this is also probably due to time differences - England is 8 hours ahead of California) when we were at Disneyland last month I was up at 5am and waiting at the security check point at 6am!! We had to make sure we had afternoon breaks and I don't think we made it past 11pm in the parks but the mornings certainly made up for it!

Fortunately, my whole family feels mornings at DL are very important. They wouldn't sleep in for anything! I'm not a morning or night person. I guess I'm in between. ;)

I am most definitely NOT. It's hard enough for me to get up at 8am to get to my 10am class (parking is annoying!) but I really prefer not to go to Disneyland when they have 8am openings because that means I have to be awake by 6am to shower, change, get my stuff so I can be out the door by 7am. If it's week day, we have to leave at 6:30 because of traffic.

I'm a night owl, for sure!

no way...I hate mornings...Im a bear...have to have starbucks doubleshot and a caffeine induced soda before I can even make it out the door and dont talk to me for a few minutes after I wake up or I will bite your head off:rotfl: I love it when the park opens at 10 because I can sleep in a little while but I hate that it closes early cause Im getting into my groove when the sun goes down:dance3:

But I'm stuck by my hubby and son, who do like mornings but sleep in at Disneyland! And then when I've tried to just whisper "it's OK, don't get up, let's just meet later", they have tantrums and insist on getting up! And make me late!
I soooo know where you are coming from! My guys usually make me wait on them too! However, generally by the second week of the trip, DH does finally decide I can make it okay without him and will go ahead and sleep in while I go to the park a little earlier.

At home I am usually up by about 7 but then I usually spend a couple hours waking up slooooowly. At DL we do also benefit from the time change so the guys don't feel too sleep deprived but man do they move slow! We have certainly never made it to the park at opening. We do travel in the fall so since the park opens later we usually don't miss too much.

Just an added thought... We have talked about mornings. I just wonder if anyone else feels like I do by the end of the day.... with time changes and a full day at the park. We usually leave about 30 minutes prior to park closing time to dodge some of the crowd and to get DD-8 back to the hotel before it is way late. After we get back to our room, we order in pizza and watch a movie. I get my food eaten but that is about it! Most of the time I fall asleep before the movie is over because I am just so tired. How about you guys. How long do you make it before you pass out for the evening?

Most definitely I am not a morning person, however even with that stated, I made it a point, to be at Dl. this year, before opening. It was nice, no crowds, the weather was decent, well until later, but then, that is how it can go, at least the next day, the weather was not as hot, nor as humid. By the time I arrived in Anaheim, I was hot and sweaty, and all that I cared about at that point was to get to my property, and take my clothes off! can't stand it when denim sticks to your booty, and every where else too! he he! seriously! plus I was tired, because not being a morning person, I had a hard time going to sleep the night before my train trip, so as a result I ended up receiving @ 2 and half hours of sleep. Remarkably, I only needed one eye open type of cat naps, at various times during my trip, but man did I sleep well, that night! out like a light!
It is awesome to arrive at Disneyland before opening, I highly recommend it.

Mariezp, your avatar is cute! :) I love cats, even if they are animated. :)

i'm kind of in the middle...part night owl, part morning person. i have a feeling i'll be a morning person at DL next month! i average about 7-8 hours of sleep a night so i guess i'm good to go in the morning...just give me some coffee and i'm set! :)

I'm definitely a morning person. When I sleep in I'm usually up by 6am. I normally wake without the alarm between 4:30-5am.

Annoyingly cheerful in the morning, too. ;)

I have always been a night owl. HOOT HOOT! It is 12.35 am right now. I do work very late most nights anyway so it works out well. AM on the other hand, I am soooo slow I almost cant do it. I am lucky though I have the luxury I suppose of waking up when ever I want.
I am very grateful.
I understand with children though, you have to do what you have to do, my hat is off to all the Mom's and Dad's out there, that get up every day and make it happen!

<-- Night Owl. I wish I could stay up til 3am every night and wake up as late as I want to, but I have that little thing called a job. Waking up in the morning for me is such a dreaded thing. I'm only up today at 7am because my friend is having her baby shower today and I have to make sure everything's ready.

When we're at DL,I usually don't have that much of a problem the first week. We usually have a wake up call at 7am (4 or 5 am Hawaii time, depending on DST), my kids will pop out of bed, too. The second week is a different story.

Oh dont get me wrong, I have a job. My hours are just from 2pm until very late at night. I have just been a Night Owl since childhood. My mom used to come in my room at 1 or 2 am to find me reading my little golden books!:rotfl:

In general I am NOT a morning person. But when at Disney I am up and at the gate before opening. Even if that means being up and out the door at 7am. (for 8am opening).
