I have been, but even when I do drink it is only one drink, or when we go wine tasting, 2 wineries with a meal in between them.
Designated driving is much more common now, and some establishments offer non-alcoholic drinks to the Dd in a group. That wasn't always the case. I was on a college trip in 1977 to Hawaii, and the group leader let us use the rental cars if the driver didn't drink. Cocktails were $3, the non-alcoholic drinks, soda and milk were $6.
The designated drivers about broke us. As we were all under 21, and from California where that was the minimum drinking age, the then 18 year old drinking age in Hawaii was a treat.
