Are You 23?

Here's the real deal for "Are you 23?"

"W" is the 23rd letter of the alphabet. Whose name begins with "W"? HMMMM?

Anyway, I digress.

Scientists and researchers have been working hard at thawing Uncle Walt from his cryogenical semi-afterlife. They have finally met with success.

Beginning on March 10, a newly warmed Walter Elias Disney will walk the parks. Our Job is to continually ask everyone we see, "Are you 23?" meaning "Are you Walt?" The first one to identify Walt will be given a free Winnie-the- Pooh pressed coin.

See, that wasn't so hard?

The age of 23 is not really significant. It would be 18 or 21. I'm thinking it's a fan club because of the 1923 tie-in or a press release of a new product or movie. Probably not a ride or new park unless someone can find a tie-in with the number 23 and a Monsters Inc. coaster.

Actually, I heard that is was the 23rd clone of Walt that they've lost, and they are looking for him..."#23, where are you?!?"

Just to throw this log back on the fire...

The latest Mickey Monitor for AP holders is out (downloadable from the site), and there was a sidebar about the mysterious "Are you 23?" thing. Dave Smith, chief archivist of all things Disney, said the Archive staff had something to do with it - but he wasn't telling.

So that's another data point for people to ponder...

it's getting so intense lol I can't wait to find out.

Found this on another site:

The are you 23 posters are [an] advertisment for a new Disney fan club that will be targeted to the die hard fan of the company. The execs were receiving complaints that the other disney fan clubs were targeted to the average disney fan and not the "true" fan. The new club will have annual fee, special events and exclusive merchandise. The are you 23? is a reference to the year that the disney company was officially founded. hope this helps.

We'll see if it is true or not.

That is the most common rumor at this point...not sure where it originated from though.

Isn't one of the park at Disney World going to be 23 this year?

Nope....

MK: 38 years
Epcot: 27
DHS: 20
AK: 11
TL: 20
BB: 13
DTD: 33 (as Lake Buena Vista Shopping Village)

I will be in Disney that week, but have plans to be in Hollywood Studios that day.... Should I rearrange my schedule to be in the MK that day?????

I just got my issue of the Mickey Monitor with a link to the website disney.com/23. I have no idea what the countdown is leading up to- Disney will anounce it on March 10th. Has anyone else heard of it or have any ideas?? I'm kind of curious now!

I saw posters at the parks last week saying "Are You 23". Other than that...not a clue!

You actually got a Mickey Monitor in the MAIL? We have been passholders for three years and we have gotten TWO. And one of those I had to call and ask them to send! How did you get them to send it??
