Are weekends really bad over the summer?

We're going in early August and plan to spend one night at RPR and 2 days at the parks. Right now I have Monday night (Aug 6) reserved, and was planning on Mon & Tue at the parks. But we're going to have 13 days all together (in Orlando/Disney, etc.) and as I do the math, I'd really like to have a down day on Tuesday, so am comtemplating switching back a day to Sunday and Monday. Would the parks be a whole lot more crowded on Sunday in August? Would it make a difference to us if we had the express passes anyway (I'm thinking just in terms of lines for food, finding a place to sit, etc.)

Thanks for any help!

You're staying at the RPR for one night. You have two days of Express usage....you do know that your hotel room key is your Express pass...its a benefit from staying onsite. Go to RPR on the Sunday before going to the park and do an early check in to get your keys. Then, when you check out Monday, keep your keys for use again.
It is really a lot more crowded on weekends and Mondays during the summer, but it depends on when in August you're going. The schools here in Florida go back a lot earlier than ANYWHERE else. This year they were back on the 7th. So you may get lucky. Also, be warned, that is Hurricane season.

They may have people there to help out a little more.
