Earth Day was AWESOME!

(and it was all my favorite price, too)


The girls and I did lots of cool things,
they had many, many booth areas with everything from beekeepers to recycling

the girls got to use pottery wheels and make bowls (or whatever they wanted with help, very neat!)
we got waterbottles
planted trees
planted sunflower seeds
made crafty things
brought home clay to coil into snakes
had lunch (hot dogs, chips, popcorn)
they had a rock wall set up to climb
made pinecone birdfeeders
and got really nice bags that are lined with insulation to use as coolers


it was 70 degrees at 11:00 AM
I didn't even need a coat!

In the scrimmage game today
they didn't call any balls, no one could walk
they had to strike out or stand there through three good pitches


as you may or may not know, with a 11 or 12 year old pitcher
three GOOD pitches may take next to forever

Four innings (they wanted to play seven)
took two and a half hours!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

and each girl batted three times...........
My butt got sore from sittin' so long

DD13 got a double
and DD10 got thrown out at first each time

DD10 went to spend the night at a softball friend

(she will be a crank early, after last night's sleepover here)
and DD13 and I stopped at the grocery store
because we seem to keep running out of ice cream!

I saw the Bluejackets weren't doing so good...but they did better then the Sabres so I can't really say anything

It's easy not to expect them to do go.... I was still amazed they made it in. To face the Red Wings in the first round, I'll be happy with one win!

Detroit is a very tough team to play against so I give them A LOT of credit for winning a game against them!
