Are we still going to try to do Cirque du Soleil during DIScon 2002?

With Patrick's big announcement, I was wondering if we are going to try to fit in a trip to Cirque du Soleil. I know that they are going to be closing down from December 3rd through December 11th. I don't know if anyone would be interested in trying to get tickets either before or after those dates. The only dates that I could make are December 1st, 2nd, or 12th (assuming that tickets are available).

Just throwing this one out as a possibility.

I wonder if they have group rates? Their regular rates are pretty pricey.

I seem to remember a discount for Annual Passholders, but I may be mistaken. It is a pricey show, but I've heard great things about it.

Oh, that would be sooooo fun! If I was going to do this, it would have to be on the 2nd. Hmmm, let me see if this is going to work. :)

I sure would like to see it again, and I believe the following have expressed interest in attending Cirque du Soleil, but I don't know what day they were interested in.

Monday morning/afternoon, December 2, 2002, I am tentatively planning on meeting with Dave's MGM 50's Prime Time Cafe lunch DIS mini-meet..

That night sounds pretty good. The other choices would be Candlelight Processional and I can't remember what else.

Here are some various additional WDW link information that comes from my list if you want to do some research. I put something like this with each UNofficial DIS mini-meet...lol. :

~The Cirque du Soleil: LaNouba Official web site.
~The DIS: Cirque du Soleil information and seating chart.
~WDW: Cirque du Soleil information.
~Deb Wills: Cirque du Soleil information,
......and Reveiw of Cirque du Soleil.
~Joanne: Cirque du Soleil information including description of acts, and seating chart.
~Steve Soares: DownTown Disney current information for this week.

I hope that this helps.

Well I will pass on the Cirque Du Soliel this year, since we have tickets to see one of their touring companys here in September.

I hope the rest of you are able to go.

I'm going to pass on this one as well, mostly because I've seen La Nouba in Orlando twice, and am seeing Allegria in Denver next month.

But for those of you going, it's a great show! :smooth:

Well, I'll be open up to anything. So many choices...but that is what planning is all about.

Well, truth be told, I'm not too interested in this one. So I'll be passing this one by.
Wow! Never thought I'd say that! ;)
Hey, boys, what are we gonna do while the others are at Cirque?:D

Hey, I'm not married to the idea. I just remembered that we were talking about it. Sheesh. It's fine with me if nobody wants to go. I can spend my money elsewhere. I just thought that we needed another VERY expensive activity to spice up DIScon 2002. I just want to see Cirque someday. To be honest, I'd rather just go somewhere like Downtown Disney or perhaps even Pleasure Island.

I need to keep costs down on this trip as much as possible - so I think I'll pass also. John - don't forget JELLYROLLS! ;)

Hey, let's go dancing at Pleasure Island. I've always wanted to do that. :D :D :D

I bought a 5-day park hopper with 4 plus options- so I'm all set for Pleasure Island!

John, there are some people who want to go. Don't feel bad. :(
Things could change once Pete makes the announcement. You never know. ;)

:::raising my hand::: Me Me Me I still want to go. I just need Pete to make some announcements before I committ to all of these $extra$ events. ;) :)

It's a shame that they are closing down La Nouba for a large chunk of the time that most of us will be at DIScon. We'll just see what happens in December.

BTW - I found a pretty good deal on tickets for Pleasure Island online at ticketmania.com - $16/ticket with free shipping. Since I have a standard Annual Pass, I knew that I would need one or two admissions to PI. I decided to buy 5 tickets in case there are others in my situation. I'm looking forward to the Adventurers Club and PI in general.

You know - if you pay full price for admission to PI - I believe you can get the next 5 consecutive nights admission for only $5 more. This is copied from www.mousesavers.com
Pleasure Island
Discount promotions for Pleasure Island change all the time, and the best discounts are often available right at the gate, so I strongly advise waiting to buy your admission until the first night you plan to go to Pleasure Island.
When you reach the Pleasure Island ticket counter, ASK the ticket agent what discounts are available (they usually don't volunteer information on discounts). In the past, some of the gate discounts discounts have included:

five additional consecutive night's admission for $5 when you buy the first night's admission at full price. This is called the "Carpe PM" or "5 for 5 Special" promotion and runs fairly often.
up to 20% if you can show a receipt from a meal at one of the Downtown Disney hotel restaurants on that same day.
