I am so Disney Cruise deprived! Just put in for a cruise quote for this November. I'm a bit nervous because I'm worried that is during hurricane season. What are folks thoughts?
We went on that "Mystery Cruise" on Disney last March and had a terrible storm..so you never know for sure!

I live in Florida so I'm well aquainted with hurricanes and I'm cruising in November without a worry. November is actually the last month of hurricane season and while you can't ever say for sure what is going to happen November is a very safe month for cruising if you take a look at the history. There have only been 6 major hurricanes in the month of November in the last 100 years so that's a pretty good track record. ::yes::

We had Hurricane Michelle in Nov 2001. Ended up going to Charleston, SC instead of Freeport and Nassau. I thought I was safe at the beginning of Nov. but sometimes it doesn't work out that way. That said, we are booked on the Oct. 30th, 7 day Eastern. The 7 days have better options for port when avoiding a storm, and hopefully it won't happen again that late. I personally had no real problem with the rough seas, except the cold temps at night up north (SC) and the closed pools. This was the 4 day, I heard at the time the 7 day had a little better seas and were able to keep pools open. My DH did get very seasick, but it didn't keep him from even one meal, he did miss a show or two. Good luck to both of us!

We cruised on the western in Nov. 02 for Thanksgiving. We had really good weather and went to all of the scheduled ports. Enjoy

Although Hurricane Season runs from June 1 to November 30, the peak of activity is from mid-August to mid-October. That being said, you could still have a Mystery Cruise as testified by folks earlier in this thread, but your chances are lower than if you cruised in September.

I cruised in November of 2000 with beautiful weather, no storms. So, like anything in life, I would just take the chance and go! I would actually cruise any month of year and just keep in mind that if Mother Nature wreaks havoc, then there are always alternate ports or itineraries that they are prepared to make. Good luck! :)

I have cruised 3 other times in November without a problem...and I am taking the plunge again this November....I would be more concerned with a late August to 10/1 date.

Small World!!!!!! We are going on the same cruise and are also from NJ!!! Are you flying out of Phila or AC? We can't decide whether we should fly into FL the day before the cruise or the morning of.

I am a Florida Resident and you should not have any problem cruising in November.....I would go on a cruise in Nov in a heartbeat if I could:-) :wave2:

BWVDee,
Tried to reply last night, don't know what happened. Anyway, we are not sure if we will fly AC or Newark. It will depend on the schedules and prices. We are flying out the day before. Can't see starting the cruise with that kind of pressure. I am to nervous for that. Not sure where we will stay that night yet, guess it will depend on the time of the flight.
I think there will be quite a few of us from NJ on this cruise. That is how my AAA e-mail was selling it, as NJ teacher's convention week.
Have you signed up on the Oct. 30th cruise thread. There is a website for the cruise, really well done, that you can get the author to e-mail you the password for. There is also a sign-up for Trick-or-treating with other Dis cabins if you are interested.
Enjoy your planning!
Donna

Thanks for the info, Donna. I will check out the website and sign up.
I think we will be going down the evening before also, just to be on the safe side!
Maybe we will see you on the plane and then on the ship!. We are definitely flying Spirit, we only live 15 min from the airport.
