Just wanted a little input on this.
We are going to be at Disneyland on Mar 30 thru Apr 3. We are taking our three children, ages 9, 14 & 16. We are going with our close friends and their two children, ages 17 & 12.
None of the kids have any interest in eating a nice meal at the Blue Bayou, so we were considering getting reservations for us adults, and letting the 5 kids be on thier own for a couple of hours with the 17 & 16 year olds in charge. They are responsible kids, but I'm still not certain if I truly feel comfortable with this.
Have any of you done anything similar? Did it work out ok? Or, have we completely lost our minds?

Thanks for any input!:)
ONLY 50 DAYS til DISNEY:yay:

I'd do it. You could threaten them with something I saw here yesterday - if they don't behave, they have to spend all day the next day in Fantasyland. :lmao:

Well we're all a little nuts or we wouldn't be on here right?!! I would have no problem letting the kids take off for a couple of hours. I let my 14yo daughter & her friend take off for short periods of time with my 8yo son at Disneyworld last year.

I still worried, but everything turned out ok! So I guess I'm still in the running for Mother of the Year Award!:rotfl: Besides if anyone has a problem with it, just tell them the people on the Disboard said it was ok!:thumbsup2

I'm sure that carries the right amount of clout

I would definitely do that! You're talking 2 hours or so, and it's worth it for a relaxing adults only meal.

If you have concerns, I'd NOT do it on the first day. That way the kids will have the "lay of the land" before they are left on their own. Obviously, give them a cell phone for the duration.

On the other thread about kids alone in the parks, Andrea (MATTERHORN) gave the absolute best consequence I've ever seen: If they are late or blow this chance, they have to wear pink kids mouse ears for the rest of the trip. I'd even make them wear them to school when you get back!!! :lmao:
