Are we "nerds"???????????

Reading this takes me down memory lane...I ALWAYS ask for extra soaps and such from the resort, and I never ever throw away bags from the shops. Who could bring themselves to do that?!?! Being the only Disney freak (I'm proud to hold that honor) in my house, my parents don't understand how a reciept from Casey's Corner and be so important. Even those commercials for Chase credit cards where they show the Disney one gets me all giddy. It's all those little vacations down memory lane that keep me sane until I get to see the Mouse again.

Everyone move over a bit and let me squeeze into this group! :crowded: :teeth:

I have some unused tickets, ticket stubs, and park maps from back in the 70's.

I keep all my check-in paperwork from the resorts.

I have my plastic room keys for the past 11 years.

I have park maps, show schedules, etc., that are wrinkled and well used but I won't throw them away because they remind me of past trips.

I keep a business card from The Days of Christmas store in DTD in my wallet all the time just because I love seeing it there when I open my purse.

I have plastic bags, napkins, straws, receipts, shampoos and soaps....I even have paper and styrofoam cups with Mickey on them that I brought back from trips. When I'm especially missing being at Disney, I fix some hot chocolate and drink it out of that styrofoam cup. I can *almost* believe I'm there if I scrunch my eyes real tight...and hot chocolate just tastes so much better out of that cup.

Dorky? Yes! And I'm so glad to see I have a lot company! :grouphug:

SkipperBubba pirate: and I :maleficen have classified ourselves as "Disney Geeks" for a while now. We get misty over every Disney TV special we come across. Heck, we get misty over WDW TV commercials! I've got plenty of those plastic bags stuffed with receipts, pinbacks, old resort newsletters and park maps. They make me smile every time I come across them, and I can't wait to collect even more!
Happy hoarding,

"Hello, my name is Maria and I'm a Disney Nerd."

I have a large "Mickey" Disney bag, filled with several smaller Disney bags, and inside one of those are the Park Hopper passes from our trip in '96  as well as the Gazette we received when checking into Fort Wilderness! Not to mention a receipt from the Settlement Depot and the Emporium...Plus our plastic "room" keys, and maps and times guides from MK, Epcot and MGM.
In yet another bag is practically every piece of paper from our last trip, in '04...Hotel receipt, hotel info, maps & times guides, Lego store receipts...The list goes on!

My sister-in-law is constantly calling me a Disney Dork. I was going to make this my DIsboards id or name, but my kids didn't think it sounded nice!

I do this all the time. I actually hide them around the house and forget about them so I can do just that. I love finding a receipt somewhere and remembering the MAGIC!!!! I recently took a trip and found a whole compatment in my suitcase I didn't clear out!!! Needless to say I was up late finishing my packing!!!

Out of all the things that I have saved from Disney trips, receipts, napkins, tickets (I keep my old tickets in my purse, so I can have them with me at all times), the biggest thing that I got at WDW that I kept was my hubby. We met at the MK in line for a ride. Even though we saw each other at band events, and he knew my cousin, we had never met before the MK. A year later when he asked me to marry him, I told him I had to because we met at the MK and Mickey had brought us together.

I guess I am a dork too!! I somewhat keep the reciepts but I am slowly throwing them away (I don't really want to be reminded of all the $$$$ I spent I just want to enjoy the stuff and the memories!!) I do keep the hotel reciepts and all the stuff from the hotel. As a matter of fact I have 3 different parking passes from 2 different trips in my truck right now. In my living room I have a hula dancing singing Stitch from our Dec trip and had to add an android Stitch that says all the cute things that he says in his "ride". Then when I go for a pen it more than likely is a pen from WDW either the white one from the room or one that I buy everytime we go. We reach for a pad of paper and it usually is from WDW (my DH's paper is Stitch his favorite) And of course I have all the soaps and lotion from the room. Oh and I used WDW napkins last night. So I think WDW comes into our conversation daily and of course it brings back those wonderful memories!! I enjoy it and am looking forward to May.

I just love this post! I mean of course I love all of them but this one hit me really close to home. Really, only someone without a heart could throw anything away from Disney! As soon as I get to the hotel I always put the soaps and stuff in my suitcase right away so I can get more (I do this everyday too). My family thinks I'm out of my mind! my friends and I joke that I have more Disney stuff than Disney World itself!!!1 :rotfl2:
