So hubby and I had this great ten year anniversary trip planned in December and then he lost his job!!!:(:( He got a new job within a week and a half but all his vacation went out the window so it looks like our ten year anniversary trip will now be our eleven year anniversary trip. But while he is in training on first shift we decided to take a quick weekend trip down to Disney. We only get to spend one day in the parks but we figure one day is better than no days!!! Are we completely crazy??? It's a good seven hour ride for us but I think it's worth it. We will go down Friday, spend Saturday in Magic Kingdom, shop Sunday and leave around two for our return trip home. So, are we certifiable????

Well...if that's all you can do and don't mind being in a car that long...why not? Make it part of your fun weekend. What else would you, could you be doing in those seven hours? If your spending time together anyway does it make a difference it it's in a car, or in a house, or at the theater? If it gets you through to next year and it doesn't break the bank....go for it! My son-in-law just had the same thing happen. It took about four weeks for him to find a new job, which he did, he starts next week. It is still up in the air as to whether they can go this year or not. We are still waiting for the November free dining offer, which will make that determination. Go have fun! Happy Anniversary!

I have totally done this. We have flown in for one full day in the parks and headed back out Sunday morning. Not crazy at all....well maybe a little bit crazy - but a good crazy.

Well if you're crazy for thinking about this, I guess we can start a club lol! For my birthday the year before last I told my husband I wanted to spend a day in the MK without kids. The drive takes us around 9-10 hours. We left on a Monday, spent the entire day at MK on Tuesday (July 3rd, so it was crazy crowded), and drove right back home after breakfast on Wednesday. I wouldn't trade that day for the world!

We do that just to get to the city!! We live a 7 hour drive (one way) away from the closest city, and there are many times that we'll leave Friday morning, spend all day Saturday running around the mall, etc. and then back home again Sunday afternoon. If I could do that with Disney heck ya, I would!!!

For the amount of travel and only one day in the parks, plus the cost of only one day in the parks, yeah...not worth it to me at all.

I live two hours by plane I have and continue to sometimes fly down after work am there Saturday and fly home late Sunday is this crazy yes! are these some of the best trips YES!

Go and have a GREAT time!

I think it is a great way to spend time together. My DH once drove to Boston for clam chowder and it is about 4 1/2 hours away. If DW was only 7 hours away we would go more often. Enjoy!
