OK - tell me - are we crazy?

I e-mailed my wife while we were at work today - and said "Hey, we can get cheap flights over Labor Day weekend - do you want to do to go to Disney?"

And she pretty much called me back and said "We can get a 1BR at Old Key West - or just about anything we want at Saratoga."

So it looks like we are going to go - totally winging a about a month out. LOL

HELP US PLAN OUR TRIP - We have both become crazy Dis-sers over the last month or so planning out December 2010 trip - so we are going to go out on a limb here and go a little crazy and not plan much of our trip and just kind of wing it!

What should we do?

OK - so here is our basic plan - We are going to leave work around 3:00pm on Thursday night September 2nd - and returning on Tuesday September 7th!

Other than that - we are totally open at this point.
No dining plan this time - well - at least I don't think so -
We have Premium AP's so we are open on park visits -
We are going to fly -

Anything else????

HELP US OUT FOR THE FUN OF IT! :)

Sounds like fun to me!:thumbsup2

I would go to Restaurants.com and get the Gift certificate for BlueZoo. That would be my nice night out.

Then I would plan to go to Les Chefs De France (or The Bistro) depending on your budget, when you're in Epcot.

Jiko or Boma after your day at AK

Probably can't get a Fantasmic package, so you're free to eat anywhere in DHS. I would probably go to 50's Prime Time, or Brown Derby if you want something nicer.

And for your day at MK... I would go to Tony's or LTT. A little romance at Tony's would be pretty nice for a short trip :)

If you're going to DTD, maybe Wolfgang Puck's...

OK, now I really want to go in September, too!

Thanks for the tips - DW is now thinking about the Quick Service Dining plan - I'm not sure - we are hashing it out - I want this to be a budget trip - maybe cook in the room some - since we will have a 1BR (99% sure).

But the BlueZoo is a GREAT idea - I hadn't even thought of that - maybe we'll see what other deals we can get like that.

I'm a light eater when we are in the parks - I prefer to pack some food and snack along the way - and keep the budget tight - but DW loves to eat - and loves to try different foods! So she may win out in the end! :) LOL

We haven't eaten at Jiko - is it great? We've eaten at Boma - I really liked it but DW wasn't so much a fan of it. Same for Chez De France - she still talks about her bad experience there LOL We even had an odd couple on their first retirement trip that shared with us that Creme Brulee is wonderful aphrodisiac LOL - we were on our honeymoon - but that made us blush a little then HAHA

I would not get the Quick dining plan. Bring quick on the go breakfast. Have a snack for lunch or share something and have a few nice meals out like BlueZoo.

Have Fun

Csharp... Since you are trying to do a bit of a budget "non-foodie" trip, then maybe just do a couple of really good meals and then the rest you can sort of "wing it' in the parks. Aside from Bluezoo, you can also get the other restaurants there... Shula's, etc.. (the other names aren't coming to me right now!).

Maybe schedule a Wishes Dessert party instead of a big meal, and spend more time doing the shows at AK and at DHS. Can't forget the rides, and certainly exploring the resorts. Soooooo many fun things to do! If you're there in September and you have the super passes, you should do a day at the water park, or maybe a late afternoon.

No matter what you decide to do, you know it will be fun.

Your story about Chefs De France is cute! I would have blushed, too! But seriously, just about anything on your honeymoon is an aphrodisiac! :rotfl2:

You should decide whether you want to do one or two really, really great (and expensive) meals, and the rest CS, or if you want to do one TS meal per day... or just completely snack through the World. If you're a light eater, it probably wouldn't be worth it to book a lot of ADR's. The heat will still be intense, so that can also zap your appetite as well!

The best part is that whatever you see, on this trip, that you want to do later, you will already KNOW that you will get that chance very soon! :thumbsup2

OK... SMillerGuy said what I was trying to say in about 1/1,000th of the words! :rotfl2:

I've never been known for my brevity... :scared1:

HAHAH - We are in the throws of a dining plan debate here at the Sharps house LOL -

I say we can order groceries for the week for around $150.00 - and DW has been sure to point out that the quick service dining plan is a huge time saver on a short trip - and I'm already the one carrying around the cooler/lunchbag in my backpack! LOL

With the free refillable mug - I think I need to show my wife how spread out Old Key West is! Refillable mugs are not a great deal when you have to walk 2 miles to refills them! :drinking1

Then she points out that we always buy Dolewhip - yes - we do - but it's not a reason to buy $320 worth of Dining Plan! :scared1:

Who knows - I may see her light - and we may go with the dining plan. LOL
But I think we could bypass it.
I've always really wanted to go to the picnic pavilion at the resort and grill out - but I know that takes charcoal and all that - so it's a bit of a pain - but I love to grill!

So I looked at the minimums for BlueZoo and Shula's and in the process I realized that we are flying and don't really want to have to pack dress clothes - and go back to the Villa to change for dinner. So I think we are going to go QSDP or Grocery Delivery - but than again - we are still talking about it!

Any tips? This is going to be a fun trip - and we have 'discussed' the DDP before - BUT we have never thought about grocery delivery.

We have driven out last two trips - but we want to fly this time since it is a short trip - so while we will miss the car - I think it's going to make some decisions for us!

:thumbsup2
