Are we crazy to consider going to US over Spring Break?

I work in a school, so are limited to vacationing over school breaks. We have never been to US Orlando (visited US Hollywood this past June). My kids really want to check out Harry Potter World, so we were thinking of doing a combined US/WDW trip over spring break this year (week after Easter). Will it be so busy that we won't get on much of anything? I would like to stay onsite at US to get front of the line access, but I'm sure it will be very expensive. Are hotel discounts ever offered at that time?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Spring Break is very busy at all local theme parks. You should check into the rates at the resorts to have unlimited Express during that time...which is almost manatory to help with the crowds. WWoHP will be slammed during that time.

Our dates are limited to school holidays also. We are going April 2-9. I know it will be crowded and we plan on staying on-site for a few days. I can't imagine what WWoHP will be like. I am still excited anyways.

You are crazy for going to DISNEY over spring break, not Universal. If you are staying onsite at Universal it isn't bad with the Express Pass. Although, spring break hasn't had Harry Potter at the same time yet.

Both true enough...I think WWoHP will be almost as bad during Spring Break as the GO weekend in June. I'm really curious to see what kinds of crowds are coming during the holidays this year.

Our next spring break is Feb 11, 2011-Feb 26, 2011 (special 2 week break for us in Nova Scotia).

We call that reading week here (one week) in Calgary. It will be busy though due to Presidents Day on the 21st of Feb. Our spring break starts March 25 and we are going then.

aha! thanks! We're going next June and I was worried it was some annual thing I should plan around. June will busy enough without adding anything to it!
