Are we Bonkers going at Christmas??????!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We were there last Christmas. We had our evening meal at CG on Christmas night & watched the fireworks. It was a lovely evening.

Christmas Eve they have characters & father Christmas in the lobby at WL so that's fun - the atmosphere is just the best at Christmas.

Have a great holiday:santa:

That's good to know - we hope to be in VWL in Christmas 2008! :thumbsup2

We were in the AKL last christmas and for a few nights running they had characters, carol singing, cookies and fruit punch and father christmas around the tree followed by a tree lighting ceremony.

Sorry you're not making it this year but you must have loads of great memories and your post makes me think we've definitely made the right decision.

I've just realised that we arrive on the last day of MVMCP so we might get tickets and see how we are on the day. I think we land in Orlando about 3pm & by the time we get to the Party it will be very late UK time so depends on the kids being awake I guess!

I believe the last night of MVMCP is quite busy.
There is a nice atmosphere during MVMCP and it's great to watch the Christmas parade at night with snow falling on Main Street :)
We found it quite a rush to see every show, the parade and the special Christmas Wishes fireworks during the evening - you need to check the show and parade times to make sure you see everything, especially if you want to take advantage of the low numbers to go on rides as well.

It will be a long night for you - especially as it's your first night.
You will be able to see the Christmas parade and some of the Christmas shows after the last night of MVMCP as they move to normal day times.

We are hoping to book our Christmas Meal at CG this year. Can I ask what time you booked for?

We are going 13/12 - 30/12 staying at AKL CL, GF, and finishing off at PBH.

We are hoping to get the parks out the way at the beginning and to avoid most Disney Parks after Christmas Eve, which is why we are moving to PBH on 27/12 to get front of line access so if it is busy we hopefully won't have to spend to mauch time in the ride line.

Hi Babyboo

We booked for 7 o'clock - asked for a window seat (& got one). Wishes was at 9pm and our server actually said that she would go slow so we would get to see them. We ended up being there for nearly 3 hours!! It was a lovely evening, not rushed & really not that crowded for Christmas day. I don't think they had overbooked at all.

As a gesture we took a small gift (made in Yorkshire) for our server and she loved it.

We went Christmas 1998 and altho I am glad we did it I would not want to do Christmas at Disney again. I missed the atmosphere of an English Christmas too much - we ended up having a Christmas dinner when we got home to make up for it.

However, I am glad we have seen Disney with all the decorations etc, the way they decorate everywhere is beautiful. Do they still do the Osbourne Family Lights at MGM? If so, that is one thing not to miss.

We stayed at OKW and woke up on Christmas day to find a stocking hanging on the door handle outside - that was a lovely touch. We also paid Disney to put a tree in our room - it cost a stupid amount of money (you get it through the Disney Florist service) but we brought the tree home with us and it comes out and stands in our hallway at home.

I also agree to take clothes for all weathers. We spent one day at Blizzard Beach yet sat wearing hats and gloves for the Candlelight procession at Epcot!
