Are We Alone On 3 Night Wonder - 3/6?

Hello from the COLD midwest! We too are cruisin' on the 6th! I hear that the boat is full -- but haven't heard much from everyone going! Time is ticking away!!! Cant wait! Is this your first? There are 5 of us. DH and I (mid 30's) DS13, DS 11 on the 5th of March, and DD 7.

Dear Rosegarden,
Thanks very much for your reply... My name is Renee (39) and we live in Ocean City, NJ - by the beach. I am traveling with my husband Jack (51) and our almost 10 year old son, Jake. We're surprising Jake - he doesn't know we're going... We have another son, but he is a freshmen in college and can't travel at this time.
We are Disney addicts... going to WDW at least 3-4 times a year - are DVC members and annual passholders. This however is our FIRST disney cruise. We cruised as a family for the first time this past January on the Celebrity Millennium and fell in love with cruising. I came back and had "cruise fever" and immediately booked another cruise for January of 2004 on Royal Carribbean. We booked that time frame so that my oldest son could be with us. I also booked a four night cruise on Disney to coincide with our Fall WDW trip. WE WERE VERY EXCITED, but then we got the last minute opportunity to do this March trip VERY, VERY, CHEAP, but with no GTD of Cabin location. So we went for it -- However, when we received our documents we found out we were put into a catagory 10 - hoping that will be okay... and that I won't go crazy without a window. We will try to upgrade at the pier.
Is this your first cruise? When are you arriving? We are arriving late on Wednesday and staying at the Radisson. When is your seating time? We are at the late seating. The best part of our last cruise was the people we met... I chatted on cruise critic for monthes before we left and than got to meet everyone on board. - it was wonderful! Hope we can meet up - but please keep on writing - we can compare notes.
Warm Regards From The Beach!!!!!

Greetings from Northeast Nebraska! It is good to hear from someone who has the same Disney fever as I. I must admit that this Disney addiction and preparation for the cruise has been so much fun....but it also has kept me neglecting my laundry, meal preparation and general housekeeping! These boards have been so very helpful and exciting but at the same time - consuming and addictive!

This is our 2nd Disney cruise. We took our first cruise in March of 2000 on the Wonder. This cruise is just our own little family as last time we had Grandma and Grandpa along. We also surprised our 3 children with the Wonder Cruise in 2000. We had just finished up 4 days at WDW and told them we were going to head for a beach for a couple of days. They almost flipped out when we pointed to the majestic Wonder boat and said "that is our ride to the beach!" We caught it all on tape and smile with fond memories each time we watch it! This time they know about the cruise and are anxiously counting down the days.

We are also arriving late into Orlando and staying at the Radisson. The rooms look so nice that I wish we could enjoy them longer than 1 short night. Did you rent a car from Avis?
We are cat. 11 with two rooms next to each other. We spent so little time in the room on the first cruise we dont mind the small rooms-and will enjoy the two bathrooms. Figured we would save money on the cat. 11's and have more to spend on the cruise. What time do you fly into Orlando..or do you drive?

I am so jealous - going to WDW 3-4 times a year!! We try to get there once a year and love it each time. We are planning a trip the end of summer and staying at Dixie Landings! My husband just shakes his head at me and my obsession with Disney. (He loves it too or he would take the checkbook);)

We are at the early seating and my name is Julie. Lets make plans to meet. That would be fun. :)

Hi Julie!
Thanks for writing... We are arriving late on Wednesday evening at 9:30 pm on Airtran. We rented a car at lmcarrental.net- located in terminal in Orlando and we found them much less than Avis, National or Dollar. We will drive directly to Radisson (catching alittle dinner inbetween) and stay overnight. Their new rooms were sold-out, so we took what they had. Didn't know what time to go over to the pier. What time do you suggest?
Do you suggest we wear our bathing suits onto the ship under our shorts? Did you dine in Palo last time? We were going to try, but hope we can get a reservation. We are not sure what we will do on Nassau day - we went to Atlantis last time, paying for a room at Comfort Suites, when we went in January. It was great, but don't know if we'll do that again.
Are you going home after cruise or to WDW? We have a late flight on Sunday, so we are going to go to Blizzard Beach and Epcot for Dinner and then to Airport. Our flight leaves at 9:30 p.m.
We are on deck 10 - cabin 2147. Have you started packing? I overpacked when we went on the cruise in January. Never seemed to need anything more than bathing suits during the day. It will be nice not to pack formal clothes this trip.
Getting excited.... we will make arrangements to meet... I'm looking forward to it.

Hello from COLD Nebraska once again. The thought of stepping out of the airplane into a warm humid feeling and smelling Florida make me thrilled inside and so anxious!
Our flight gets into MCO at 10:55 pm:( - that way our kids will miss less school) We have two separate rentals through Avis, one to get to the Port and one to get back to the Airport since our flight departs MCO @ 1pm on Sunday. Is there a more economical way to do this?
We arrived at the Disney terminal between 10:45 -11:00 for our first cruise. But I like to take it ALL in and be on top of everything so we may go a bit earlier this time. Last time we were probably the 4th family in the line to board. If you are going to upgrade I would suggest getting to the DTerminal fairly early. Last time we already had our 'Keys to the World' just coming from WDW on the 4day/3night package and our check in was a breeze. This time it will be different as we will have a total check in at the terminal. It was all done at the D. Resort before. I believe the boards said they start boarding the boat as early as 12:30?
That would be a great idea to wear you suits under your clothes as you board the ship. The pools fill up fast the first day.
We had ressies for Palos on the first cruise but decided to do something different instead - not sure why?! cant remember. My husband and I are neither one much for 'fancy' food - so I dont think we will go this time either. We didnt want to miss the unique dining experiences in the other places with our children last time either. But I hear Palos is great - go for it!
Our room #'s are 6587,6585 - side by side.
Could you tell me about the Atlantis. We are going to try to get day ressies there. It looks exciting. Will our kids like it? Does Comfort Inn do day ressies? I called to get ressies prior - but there are 5 in our party and the room only holds 4 . We wont even hardly use the room. Did you ?
Just beginning to think about packing. Kind of hard because I have to dig into the summer clothes. Our children are at the ages of some big growth spurts (sp?) Not sure what fits yet and what doesn't. There are some great threads on "what to pack". I have printed them out. - Sound very helpful. We brought walkie talkies last time and they worked great. Hey my email is jrose@huntel.net if you want to email me. Or perhaps we can chat at cruise chat this Friday eve.
Take care! Until later - Julie

This will be our first cruise ever. Me and my mother-in-law and dd(3) an all girl trip. We live in Southern Illinois and are fed up with snow, snow, snow!! Can't wait to get somewhere warm and sunny! We are flying out of Nashville TN the morning of our cruise. I have nearly memorized my passporter, but still not sure what to expect. Anyone out there with todlers going on our cruise? My dd is 3 and will turn 4 in Sept. She is so excited to dress up and go to dinner each night. I think we are going to have to change her clothes every few hours to let her get a chance to wear them all. We thought, oh no we are going to have to buy her all new clothes since her last summer ones won't fit. So everywhere we saw spring/summer clothes we bought some. Now we have too much. she will have to take more suitcases than us LOL! I haven't seen too many others on our cruise here on the DIS boards, but everywhere I check (disney cruise site, expedia and travelocity) it looks like our date is nearly sold out. So, maybe not much chance for room upgrades:mad:
We have a cat 11 and were hoping to upgrade. But, if not availabe we are very close to the deck 7 aft overlook.
I read somewhere that travel irons are not allowed in the staterooms. Does anyone know if you can bring one and use it in the laundry room (instead of using the ships irons in the laundry which are not supposed to be very good).

Well would love to hear from anyone else on our trip.

Greetings Leslierx -

We are also soooooo sick of the cold and snow. Won't it be awesome to step out of the plane into WARM SUNNY Florida?!?!
We have a trucking company and are very aware of how awful the winter has been in Ill. Didn't use to mind the snow that winter brings until we owned trucks!!
About your expectations for the cruise....expect the best! This is our 2nd cruise aboard the Wonder and it was so great the first time!! Disney just knows how to do things.:D
I have heard that the cruise is nearly sold out as well. I am kind of excited (in a selfish kind of way) that we are a step ahead of the other thousands on the boat by knowing all the tips about Palos, the spa, excursions and such. I believe there are only 4 or 5 other groups that are going on 3/6 that have been in contact through these boards.
Your DD will love the club for her age. Especially if she is not shy!
My DD was the same age when we went on the cruise in 2000. She was a little shy back then, just because of the fact that she was not used to any other care takers other than my husband and I and occasionally the Grandmas! This time around I bet she will really get into all of the activities the clubs have to offer!
Sorry - can't help you out on the iron question.
My email address is jrose@huntel.net if I can help answer any other questions though....Better get back to the packing! ( I have to remember this is only for 4 days and not 4 weeks!;)

Great finally mention of others going on this date :)
We have a group of 5 of us going too. First Disney Cruise and it was -28 C this morning so I'm sure the weather will be an improvement.
Looked at the long range forecast and rain supposed to end on Tuesday/Wednesday.
Our first Disney Cruise and getting excited.
Cheers,
Grumbo

Greeting Grumbo- won't the sun and sand be a welcomed change?
We are also a group of five. Are you traveling with family or friends? You will love your Disney cruise..this is our second and we are absolutely wild to go ! Our flight begins in Omaha, Ne with a short layover in St. Louis then on to MCO. Every morning I get up at the break of dawn and log onto the weather site. It looks like we all will have awesome weather as we set sail on the Wonder, and the temps and weather at The Bahamas look GREAT! Mid 80's the whole week-end!!:p :p :p :p :p :p
:smooth: Nice to hear from some fellow cruisers!

Wife and I along with our 9 year old who will be celebrating her birthday on board, and another couple.
Direct flight from Toronto to Orlando on Wednesday morning. (Didn't want to take a chance of flight delays for weather) and staying overnight in Cocoa Beach) The other couple are driving down leaving tomorrow.
Yep this has been a crappy winter and so looking forward to the sun again.
