Are we allowed to do this?

If we book the Ohana Character breakfast but are not staying at the Poly, my we leave our car in the Poly lot and take the monorail over to the MK after breakfast? We will be staying on property, but in a value resort. this is one I've never come across and you're help or opinion would be appreciated.

Also, not sure if this is technically a pool hopping question or not, but we are making dinner reservations at several resorts. I'm not guessing that gives you the ability to swim in that pool at that time (waiting 15 minutes after eating, of course) but it sure would be convenient.

Generally, you are only permitted to park your car at a resort for about 3 hours, otherwise, they could tow your car. You can pay for valet parking, but it might be better to use resort transportation to your breakfast instead.

As for the pools, you are not permitted to swim in any pool other than at your own resort unless you are DVC, and even then there are restrictions.

No to both questions, sorry. You can only park at another resort as a guest for 3 hr max. unless you valet park. The reason being many resorts just don't have enough parking, and the guests that are staying at that resort won't have parking.
Also unless you are a DVC member, pool hopping is not allowed either. The pools are for the resort guests only. There are signs up at the pools stating this. And you may be carded.

Sorry this isn't the news you had hopped to hear, but good for you asking ahead of time so you can plan accordingly.

You can park at the TTC, for your Poly breakfast. There is a short walking path that connects TTC to Poly. And since you are staying on site, it cost you nothing to park there. then hop on the monorail after breakfast to MK.

Awesome, did not know you could walk from TTC to Poly. I just checked out the thread for "pool hopping" and wish I had read it before posting my last question. Oops. Thanks for the help anyway.

Yes, there is a path, not much signage, so you may have to ask directions. Enjoy your vacay. We've had dinner at 'Ohana and love it. The gift shops at Poly are fun to browse around too, and on your way out to the monorail there is a kiosk that sells Kona Coffee :goodvibes

If you want to park your car at the Polynesian it's best to Valet Park because they don't enforce the 3 hour limit. However if you don't want to pay for that then it's best to park at the TTC since it's free because your staying onsite and you can walk to the Polynesian from there or take the Resort Monorail.

I would ask the parking attending when you park at the Poly. I have before a few times and they have stated it was fine for me to leave my car and head to MK via the monorail. However, they generally were non-busy times. I have also been told no. I would just ask or park at the TTC and take the walking path.

If you've never walked the path from TTC to the Poly, you may want to take the Monorail instead. That path can be a bit discombobulating once you get to the resort. The monorail would drop you off mere feet from 'Ohana!

I don't like messing with a car, so I would take a bus from your value resort to MK and then the boat from MK to the Poly.

You can always ask, but be totally up front!

We were having breakfast at Kona then were going to MK for a few hours before leaving to prepare for our flight that afternoon. When I asked at the concierge desk for the quick and easy way to get to the "MK parking lot", they actually never told me, just got 3 total concierge CMs to tell me that I was being silly, and that I should just leave my car at the Poly.

So, after thinking about it during our whole breakfast, we did.

(the CMs at the gate didn't tell us of any parking limit, nor did we get any sort of 3 hour pass)

But, if we were in the same situation again, I'd ask, since I wouldn't want to assume that what was allowed Dec 2010 would be allowed at another time.

I would just take the bus to the MK and then monorail or boat over to the Polynesian. But, I am one that actually likes Disney transportation.

Fortunately, most people do not park at Resorts and then go into the Parks. So strict enforcement is not necessary.
It is very easy to park at the Transpo Ctr, and walk or monorail to Poly. We like the ferries from Poly and TTC to MK and vice versa: its a better experience than the monorail.

Oh I wish that was true. But, unfortunately, I have been in the circle round the parking lot game trying to find a spot at my home resort. It's no fun at all. The non-resort guests do have other options like the TTC and should use those. The lots just aren't big enough to accommodate people going to MK.

:lmao::lmao::lmao: You are kidding, right? Why else would the resorts that connect to the theme parks have signs at the parking lot entrance that say they are sorry but they cannot provide parking for the theme parks? People try to do it all the time. Some get away with it, some get towed and some give up before they try to do it. All you have to do is watch the BW parking lot at night when Epcot closes or the Contemporary/BLT parking lot when the MK closes. Suddenly all sorts of parking places open up.

Parking lots. That's why they have them at each of the theme parks. For parking to go to the theme parks.

Me too :( When we stayed at Poly, we had a car for a couple of days, and park finding parking was very difficult.
It would be nice if they had designated spots for Guests, and separate 3 hr Visitor Parking spots.

We valet at all the deluxes to avoid the parking issue all together. I hate the MK parking lot so we valet at Poly or GF and take the monorail to MK. Same with Epcot, we valet at Y&B Club and walk over to the back entrance. It is much, much easier. You can come & go as you please and you don't have to worry that you are breaking any rules or taking the spot of someone paying to stay at that resort.
