I just read about the resorts going non-smoking and was wondering about the restaurants at the parks? I may as well forget asking my dad along on our trip since he is a very heavy smoker!

I'm curious to know the official answer on this.
When we were there it seemed to be smoke-free.. it's something we are careful to avoid and we never saw anyone smoking.
I wonder about the restaurants that have bars attached, though. Maybe those allow it?

All WDW restaurants are non-smoking and have been for years.:thumbsup2

All restaurants in the state of Florida are nonsmoking. They have been for a few years now. Some bars still allow smoking, but I think they have to make less than 10% (something like that) income on food to be considered a bar. Basically, they have to be a true bar to allow smoking. A sports bar, or other establishment that sells equal food & alcohol must be smoke free.

Neither my DH or I are smokers but we've been with other family members who are & they managed just fine. My mother, who was in a wheelchair when we took her to WDW, was a very heavy smoker so we knew that as soon as we were done eating, we had to wheel her to the nearest smoking area. It was a bit of a pain at the time, but we cherish those memories we had with her. :)
