Are visitors allowed?

We are going to be camping this fall and were wondering if visitors are allowed? I have family that will be staying at another resort and they want to come visit us, but are not sure if they are able to drive over.

Should not be a problem. They'll need to park their car in the overflow lot at the Outpost and either take a bus in, or if you have a car, you can meet them at the Outpost and give them a lift.

Actually once they get in past the guard shack there is nothing but the two car parking limit at the campsites which I see violated all the time to stop them from driving all the way to the campsite and parking for a visit. The worst that can happen is that they would have to move to the Outpost parking. They will have a KTTW and resort parking sheet anyway.

And of course we all know that the security at the guard shack is "first class, world class",,they'll pretty much let anyone in specially if you tell them you are with the "Pressure Washers".

Correct if the visitors are also staying on WDW property. I wasn't sure from the OP's post if that was the case.

We did this in April. I was able to get a pass for the Son's inlaws. We asked at check in. We also put my Son's name on my resies. There was no extra charge. They were able to come in any time.
They were not staying on Disney property

Best to inform them of your site number and who the reservation was made under. However if you say you're just visiting the resort, they let you in too. Since it seems now the overflow lot has been blocked off.

Well I thought that was clear when the OP stated

I have family that will be staying at another resort:confused3

Don't get "snitty", Larry. There are a ton of "another resorts" besides Disney resorts, so mind your manners, young man!!:snooty:

Sandra - one thing I've never tried is actually asking the guard if we can come into FtW even though we're not staying there. Like you, we live close enough to just pop in to the Fort on a whim. Now that the day lot is closed off, we just assumed we could no longer come into the Fort. Am I assuming incorrectly?

Just be creative. I visit the Fort on a regular basis. There are many valid reasons to be at the Fort. Think about it.

When I was doing the bag swap, I was visiting several of the resorts. When I said I was there to drop the bag off to some one, I had to have the name of the person that the reservation was made under. Most the time I didn't know the info off the top of my head, I just told them I was "just visiting" when they asked for a reason, or eating if it was that time of day. The only resort that I visited to give extra precautions to was Shades of Green, and the bag user arrived before I did and told them of my coming so I could park.
But if you tell them you're there for anything that the fort provides, they'll wave you right on through. A few suggestions, trail rides, eating, shopping, canoes, boating, fishing, carriage rides, wagon rides.

A long long time ago they used to have me pull up to write my tag number down, but I haven't had them do it in a while. I guess to give you that sense of "big brother is watching". But they already have security cameras on the back of every guard house and toll booth, so they're already recording your license plate number as you drive through. When I was a cast member, I just flashed my ID with no questions asked.

And while I'm sure the family member's know each other names, they might not be clear on who's name the reservation is under. It could the husband's brother coming to visit and the reservation is made under the wife's sister's name who's married. So who knows if the last names are the same.
