Are two ADRs in one day too much food?

our last day will be at AK, and given how hot it will be in August I made an ADR at Tusker House for lunch. Later that same day we have dinner reservations at Beaches and Cream so that we can try out the kitchen sink. Now I worry if that is too much food? Are there other places to eat indoors at AK, or any decent food close by where the Lion King show is?

Thanks for your advice!

Stick with what you have and if you think it is too much fold then just get the kitchen sink at Beaches and Cream. What time is lunch and what times is dinner?

We typically do 2 ADR's at TS eateries daily on our trips. Even during the F&W Festival where we'll snack around the different kiosks/booths. You can always do a light lunch or light dinner which we have done. We are foodies though and like to try different things. Especially at WDW. Our schedule usually consists of an 1100 or 1130 lunch and a 1930-2100 dinner (depending on the eatery).

Typically I would say a lunch ADR and a dinner ADR is a little much. But in this case, I would keep both reservations. If you guys are really hungry, order an entree or two to split before taking on the Kitchen Sink. Otherwise, just use at ADR as another break AND an excuse to eat ice cream for dinner!

We have one day with 2 ADR's this trip. I couldn't decide between lunch at Liberty Tree Tavern or dinner at Skippers Canteen so we did both. The sandwiches at LTT shouldn't be overly filling, and the appetizers call to me more at skippers (looking at you falafel!) so I think we will be ok.

Just skip dinner and go straight to the kitchen sink if you are still full from lunch! Or just an appetizer to split and dessert!

I don't think it's too much food. I like having a TS breakfast or early lunch and then a later dinner.

I eat at least three times a day at home (usually more with snacks), and I eat three times a day on vacation. Granted, it might look like a Luna bar for breakfast, ADR for lunch, salad from food court for dinner OR ADR breakfast, Dole Whip lunch, ADR dinner...it is still 3 times. Our last trip, we tried to balance the ADRs so about half of the days we had 2 and half we only had one. Even on the days we had one ADR (usually brunch or lunch), we would still get a meal from the food court for dinner.
I do space the eating farther apart than I would at home and 3 sit down meals would be too much for us (food and planning wise), but 2 was not really a problem food wise

I wouldnt do a lunch and dinner ts but have done a breakfast and dinner many times. As a previous poster said if you are not hungry at dinner just get the ice cream

How does that compare to how you normally eat at home?

We often do 3 ADRs per day, but we are used to eating 3 full meals every day at home, so it's no different on vacation.

I know a lot of people talk about just eating a snack or dessert in place of a meal, but that's something we could never do.

If those are both times when you normally be eating at least something, then you should be fine.

We can only do that on vacation because we might have a buffet for breakfast and pig out...I have no self control. Then lunch might just be a snack.

I thought 2 ADRs would be great for us but since we still have 2 nappers...it was too hard to predict napping and schedule dinner every night, so 3 would have just been a scheduling problem especially trying to predict 6 months in advance and face $50 cancellation fees. We still did 3 meals a day even on a day with 1 ADR...it would be cereal in room, lunch ADR (probably a Dole Whip in there somewhere) and dinner from the food court.

This is what we do too. We don't eat at QS very often, prefer TS meals, especially in summer when it's so hot and QS is mostly outside. We'll do 2 most days, broken up it's not hard to be hungry for both. We just don't always order huge meals at each ADR

we are doing DxDDP and character breakfasts most days. That will be the hard part, to not be done for the day after breakfast. I love breakfast. :rotfl:

You can just order ice cream at Beaches and Cream if you aren't very hungry. We do 2 TS most days. Gets us out of the sun for awhile and I usually eat 3 meals a day at home anyway. We either to breakfast and dinner, breakfast and a late lunch, or early lunch and late dinner usually then snacks or QS if we're hungry again.

We did something like this last trip. We had Hollywood & Vine for breakfast at 8:10. We had a ADR at BnC for 4:30 that afternoon. We got apps and ice cream. It worked for us.

I feel this is such a subjective question. You're getting all kinds of answers from all levels. What you should do is what you want to do. It's your trip it should be done your way. However I will give my 2 cents :P. A lunch and dinner TS is a lot of food for us......and I can eat. We've done breakfast and dinner before. Recently we've taken a 1 TS attitude to meals at WDW. We feel it helps with cost and allows for more touring time as we finding doing a QS is faster than doing TS meals. But this is our opinion.

What ever you do have a great trip!

The days that we have 2 ADR's planned we may split some meals so we can do a bit more TS without feeling stuffed.

Thanks everyone for the advice! Sounds like doing a buffet lunch TS and a dinner TS is going to be too much food for us. So will skip the Tusker House this trip and keep the Beaches and Cream ADR. My family selected that over the Not very scary Halloween at MK! It's all about the kitchen sink for them, and me!

Why not do Tusker House (preferably before rope drop) for breakfast and then keep your ADR at Beaches and Cream. We do this often and never feel like we have had too much food. That and Tusker House is a rarity at WDW; it is a buffet where the food is actually not too bad.

For me, a buffet by definition means either eating too much or paying too much. Sometimes both.

But we have plans for Spice Road Table at noon and Rose and Crown at 7:15, which won't be too much if we either get the small plates or split an entree at Spice Road.

We also have plans for Skipper's and BOG (dinner) on our MK day, which does worry me. I may just do soup, salad, and dessert at BOG, depending on what the catch of the day is. With my luck, it will be lionfish (which is definitely on the agenda for lunch at Skipper's).
