Hubby is dressing up for the Pirate night and wants to get those fake guns from the Pirates of the Caribbean store at the Magic Kingdom. I was just wondering if they would allow this onboard the Magic??

Anyone have any info??

Well I can say that we had NO problems with a PLASTIC pirate sword (with the airlines OR the ship).

I don't think it would be a good idea. You might really freak someone out.

I don't know about toy guns......but I was told by DCL not to bring scissors.

DD had a project, she needed to cut paper....they told me not to bring them even in the checked luggage. So, I borrowed scissors from customer service.
Oh, and we didn't fly....we drove to the Port.

Just my experience....

There was a sign next to the cash register at a store in Key West last week saying the fake guns they were selling could not be taken aboard cruise ships per the homeland security or some such statement.

My kids took their plastic swords to wear with their Pirate costumes, but I wouldn't let my son take his plastic gun. It is designed to look like an old fashioned pistol a pirate might carry and is pretty obviously plastic, but I just didn't want any hassles. It is hard to know how things like that are viewed these days. The swords presented no problem at all.

And if you are flying - Absolutely no toy weapons of anykind in carry on luggage. Doesn't matter how flimsly or obviously toy like it is, no toy guys, plastic swords, rubber knives etc. Put them in checked luggage only.

Timon...Can you tell me more about the POC store at WDW/MK? Were still looking for our pirate outfits for both...the ship and for MNSSHP.. I'm sure when the Halloween things start showing up in the stores we'll have better luck. But maybe we should just wait and see what we can buy at MK. Where would I find the store? (at the POC ride?) And what sort of things do they have? Would it be anything that would work for a pirate outfit? Eye patches, bandanas, hooks, hats???

Thanks

scrapperjill,
The store is at the exit of the ride, you have to go through it to get out. They have tons of pirate stuff. I believe they have kids costumes but I don't remember them having any adult costumes. They do have tons of accessories like bandanas and eye patches, treasure and guns and swords etc. It's one of my fave stores in the MK. But I love pirate-y things :) They have cool disney pirate hats like bandanas with Mickeys ears or with Goofy ears. I have a few photos of those fun disney hats on my website under "Silly Hats".

They have cool pirate-like guns in many sizes from a small tiny thing to a big rifle type gun which is why hubby was thinking of getting one there but I guess he will either get a plastic sword/dagger or just go without!

Timon...thanks...I think I saw the Goofy pirate hats on the Magic last year...but I don't recall seeing the mickey ones. I'm thinking we may just wait....and see what we can get there :smooth: ...after all we need the stuff...but if we get it their it will double as souviners. We still have our bandanas from the cruise.....and planed on packing those. I wonder if they still have the same ones. It seems like the more recent pics I've seen...have had the red ones with wording on it.

Do adults really dress like Pirates? I couldn't even get my husband into a tropical looking shirt when that was the theme.

Oh Yeah! We adults are just big kids on pirate night. DH is 60 and dressed as a pirate. He was chosen to participate in the show because he looked so good. pirate:
