Are toasters allowed in rooms?

I posted this on the resort board, but am usually over here, so I figured I'd ask all of you family people as well...

Ok, I don't stay at hotels much, so I'm not sure if this is a big no-no or what. We are staying at Pop Century. We have the dining plan, but are using it for lunches and dinners. We're not big breakfast people, we mainly eat toast, bagels, or cereal and fruit. I hate not only to waste the money, but also the time, getting such things at the counter service restaurant. Are you allowed to bring toasters into the room and use it? I'd unplug it when we're out of the room, of course, but not sure if I could get in trouble just for having it. Anyone ever done this?

this is one of those questions that can turn ugly pretty quickly. You will get people who will tell you they are a fire hazard and don't do it. You will get other people who tell you that burnt toast is an awful smell, don't do it. Then you will get the people who will tell you they always do it.

People have emailed disney the question before and have gotten different answers.

My advise is to use the toasters in the food court. They are there for anyone to use and it will keep your neighbors happy if you would happen to accidently burn it.

I'm glad to hear they are in the food court for guest use. I didn't realize they would be, although it makes sense, I just didn't even think of that! Thanks for the warning about the possible ugly posts! I kind of thought of that before I asked, but figured I'd never know what was accepted if I didn't ask...

No flames here but toasters (as with any appliance) can be very dangerous. I remember back in the 90s when we were down the shore (since I see you're from South Jersey) we were staying in Wildwood and they used to have toasters in the rooms. One of them shorted and electrocuted my poor Grandmother. She was okay thank goodness but she was thrown across the room.

I always get nervous about people bringing those to resorts because what if they catch fire or hurt someone, etc. I'm glad that they have toasters in the food court for people to use so people don't have to bring their own.
