Are they still sitting parties at separate tables.

DH and I will be on The Wish in 3 weeks. I haven’t requested a table by ourselves yet.
One time I had forgotten and DCL was very accommodating.

I believe I had been reading that Covid protocol was seating all parties by themselves.
So, do I need to call and request it?

Thanks all and happy future cruising.😎🚢👍🏻💫✨

No, they are no longer seating parties by themselves. I called and requested a private table for my DD and me. We were still seated with 3 other people. I should have checked embarkation afternoon to see if the request had been granted but didn't think about it.

ETA: This was on the Wish.

With the WISH running at least 75% capacity, they are not automatically giving private tables. If that's what you want, you need to request it by calling DCL (or have your TA call).

And be aware that even if you are assigned a private table, tables are VERY close together. Someone posted a picture recently, and I don't think it was even 4" between their table and the one next to them.

I requested a private table for the Dream this weekend but was still seated with two other parties, so they are definitely combining groups.

We were on the Magic recently and were linked with another party so we were at a table for 8. There were not a lot of tables that size, most tables seemed to be set up for 4 so I think on that sailing anyway, they weren't seating groups together unless their reservations were linked.

We’ve requested a private table for our upcoming cruise. Is there a specific place to go and check if it was granted once onboard or can I ask via the chat feature on the app?

We just sailed the wish and were seated with 2 other couples at a table for 6 for dinner. And as others have said, the tables are reeeeeeally close.

We were on 8/22 sailing on Wonder and we were seated individually. And we saw most families were seated in their own tables.

Requesting late dining (2nd seating, or whatever it's called) will greatly increase your chances of getting your own table. The early/1st seating always fills up, as most people tend to want that seating for some reason.

Where do you make the request to have your own table? We (me, wife, girls 12/13) are sailing on the Dream on Oct 6th out of Miami. Call DCL? Online request? Upon checkin at the port? On the ship?

Thanks!

Call DCL and they will add the request to your reservation.

My head server on the Magic for Iceland told me that the week after was their first week of shared tables since they had over 2200 guests but that aftr that cruise most cruises were again at 1700 and less so that for those cruises individual tables were gonna be the norm. They only seat together if they need the space.

The Magic has 1800 and something this week. We are at our own table.

Our last two Disney cruises were pre Covid and we were at tables of eight both times. I wouldn't want to be with just one other couple, glad at least it was a table of six. Eleven days until our Wish cruise!

Our first cruise was in between hurricanes and the 2 cruises before ours had been canceled, so our cruise was not full and we had a table of our own. Even one of the big round tables in Enchanted Garden. (My DH is still salty they got rid of those!)
It was kind of nice having people other than ourselves to talk to at dinner. We thorough enjoyed both of the couples we dined with and had some great conversations.

We definitely have connected with most of the people we have sat with on cruises. There were a couple of duds too that didn’t talk unless directly spoken to. Awkward
