Are they going to finish the other side of the Pop?

We just returned from WDW and stayed at the Pop. Great trip, resort, etc. From our building(70's) we could see the other side and it looks like they have 2 buildings done but no equipment that looks like they are working on it. It also has a very nice bridge connecting the two. Does anyone know if they are going to finish the other side or not? If they are why are they not working on it?

Just returned from WDW two weeks ago, stayed at the POP. I asked a CM about the other half of the resort and she said it was stoped after 9/11. After 9/11 attendance fell off and Disney did not want all the extra rooms on the market. What you saw was one of the buildings with rooms and anouther checkin and food court that would be just like the other open part of the resort. As attendance recovers they may finish the other half but the CM said there are no plans at this time to finish the other half.

POP sat idle for quite a while after 9/11. There is no need for the hotel rooms at this time. They use the parking lot when there are special events. If the demand picks up then you may see the other side being worked on.

we loved the POP. We would definatly stay on the other side if it opens up. They should just tear it down if there are no plans, its somewhat of an eyesore.

I read somewhere that they will have to tear it down even if they start building again. It said that since it has sat so long not finished it has started to deteriorate and it was not safe to finish.

I think they should just tear it down. It is sort of creepy just sitting there like that. I think if I was in a room directly facing it, I'd ask to be moved!

I doubt that they would have to start from scratch, and consequently I doubt they will tear it down in the meantime, given how much money that would waste.
