Are they booking less cabins?

I’ve seen various posts where people are saying they can’t find availability for the recently released cruises, and some people are responding you have to call to get the room you want. I booked a May 2021 cruise last month and just now a 2021 Merrytime cruise to have something to look forward to after this year.

Does anyone know if Disney is booking less cabins per cruise for 2021 in anticipation of required occupancy reductions because of Covid? I was able to get the area I typically prefer, but I’m wondering because I would love a less crowded atrium, ship etc.

I was wondering this too. Yesterday I booked a cabin on a June cruise (not newly released date) and now it is all sold out. What happened? I understand today is silver day, but this is not a newly available itinerary....

The issue with cabins being booked up is that this is the first DCL itinerary release in history where you literally have tens of thousands of people with a pocket full of FCC dumped on this market.

For example: The Nov 6th Fantasy CC double dip cruise has no more concierge available and the itinerary release hasn't even made it to the general public yet.

I understand there might be more sudden demand w the newly released, but I’m still wondering overall if reduced occupancy will be occurring.

The Nov 6 CC double dip is an unusual and desirable itinerary. I wish they did a few more 5 or 6 day cruises like that. I looked at it yesterday and when I went back today my choice had already increased by about $200.

After reading this I checked the May cruise I booked. No balcony rooms are showing as available for decks five through seven and only some large ones on eight. I realize it could be people rebooking from this year, but it’s pretty unusual to have full decks gone in 30 days. I’m really curious if it’s rebooking demand or reduced occupancy.

It’s a thought! And if I move my January Dream Cruise which I’m starting to doubt it’s an excellent idea

I booked this cruise yesterday as Gold, was not able to get my 1st, 2nd or 3rd choice of room but I got a room that made me happy in the end lol I went to check back maybe 2 hours later (so I booked around 7:30am pacific and went back to check around 10am) and my category had gone up $200+ in less than 3 hours!

We booked yesterday morning as gold too, and now the price has increased by almost $200 and there is only GTY availability. I think you were the person who wanted a 4E? I didn't realize those rooms don't sleep 5, so that was my first choice as well until I learned they don't sleep 5, so we went with 8C. Glad you are happy with what you got. Looks like the cruise will be full of platinum and gold! I wonder if there is a FB group for this cruise? Cheers (from a fellow Canadian)

Yes there's an FB group! Quite a few members so come and join! Yes I wanted a 4E, I'll keep checking ;-) Otherwise I'm content with the room we booked and will just be happy to be on a Disney cruise again!!!!

I was also "Wonder"ing about the Feb 19th sailing out of NOLA, which I booked before COVID and which seems to be filling up. What would they do about occupancy restrictions on cruises that are already booked over that occupancy?

Most likely, as with other cruiselines, they might offer "move over" perks. That is, "move to another cruise and we'll upgrade you to Concierge", or give you extra OBC, or whatever.

I'm sure they are. The Magic cruise we were looking at the morning of gold opening day had no deck 1 or deck 5 cabins available at all. That is too broad an omission to be due to demand- that's DCL holding back.

There were lots of other cabins available on different decks, though.

Is this why new cruisers aren't seeing the fall 2021 lineup? I'm on the site and don't see anything past September of next year.

Posted this in another thread too. I wonder if they are blocking rooms so they can make it so families can be guaranteed to have their own table at dinner times due to COVID-19.
