Hi Guys'n'gals,
Could anyone please tell me if park tickets for the full duration of your stay are compulsary if you are staying on-site at WDW or can you just buy a Hopper pass for 10 days,

Thanx,
Luv Audrey,

It depends on who you book with. If you book through a travel company like Virgin they will include the Length of Stay pass in their basic price for your holiday. Other companies might not do this, but you would have to check.

If you book your accommodation directly with Disney you can buy whatever ticket you like, eg 10 day tickets, Length of Stay or even annual passes.

Regards

Rob

No Audrey - they are not compulsory unless you buy a package where the UPHs are part of the deal.
We just buy whatever passes suit our needs and we always stay on-site for part of our holiday e.g. we've often bought hoppers either at check in or through Ticketmania.

EDIT: Looks like we posted at the same time Rob LOL!!

Just reading the BA brochure and they say that buying a length of stay ticket from them is compulsory when booking a WDW hotel.

Martin,

that's BA's rule, not Disney's.

We stayed at the Animal Kingdom Lodge last year for 3 nights at the end of our trip.
We bought 10 day tickets in the UK before we travelled and used them while we were staying off-site, and continued to use them while we were at the AKL. There was no pressure to buy a length of stay pass at all.

You could even stay at a WDW hotel and not have any pass, although you wouldn't be able to visit the parks.

Yes..... if you book a package through the tour operators for on-site you are likely to have passes included, but you can book fly-drive or flights only and independently book room only at the WDW resorts and that way you can choose what passes you want and where you get them from.

Bev,

Thanks for the info, I thought it a bit strange as this wasnt the rule before, but the way it is worded in the brochure certainly implied when I read it that it was a WDW policy, sneaky BA eh.

Hi Guys'nGals,

Many thanx for so much prompt replies!:)

As we have already booked our flights independantly we don't have to go through a TA so like you said we will buy 10 day hoppers for DH and DD and i will be buying an AP ticket to get discount on our rooms and as we've only just joined the Disney Club we'll hopefully make even more savings!!!!!

As always you've been a real helpful bunch,
Thanx Again,
Luv Audrey,
