Are these points borrowed?

I have an April use year. My 2013 points are all used. I am planning on making ressies for Late Sept/ Early Oct 2014 with my 2014 points. I will be doing this at the 11 month mark, so this November, but I am using points I do not get until April of 2014.

Are these points borrowed? I.E. what is the cancellation policy for that ressie? If they are borrowed and I cancel the points are gone, correct?

If I'm reading you right, those points will not be borrowed.

You have 2014 points coming to you in April 2014. Your reservation will be for October 2014, which is well within your 2014 UY.

It doesn't matter WHEN you MAKE the reservation for purposes of borrowing etc.; it's when the reservation DATES are. And yours clearly are within your 2014 UY so if you use those points, and you later cancel before 30 days from arrival, they'll just go back into your account with the same UY and banking ability.

Points are used when you check in so your 2014 reservation uses your 2014 points. You have until the end of Nov to bank any unused points.

Your 2014 points are in your account now for use for stays 4/1/14 to 3/31/15. If you look online, you should see 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016. You could even borrow 2015 at the 11 month mark for a stay in the fall of 2014.

If you cancel, borrowed points expire at the end of the use year they are borrowed into, they are not "gone".

Yes, you read me right, I suppose I could have worded it better.

But that's the answer...it doesn't matter when the ressie is made, it matters when the stay is.
