Are these numbers adding up right? (FD VS %)

I'm trying to debate between using a FD promotion or 20% off. It's just me and DBF traveling, and we'll be staying at POP with deluxe dining.

Rack rate for the room is $594 for the week.
Rack rate & DXDP for the week is $1669.86.
Free dining, upgraded to DXDP is $902.

20% off with DXDP at POP is $1550.86

Is that right? Will we really save almost $650 by using the free dining plan VS 20% off?

I just always hear that free dining is ONLY a good value if your a family of 4 "adults" in a value

For the most part free dining will save you more than 20% at a Value resort. The free dining difference seems a bit much. When are you going? How many days? Need more info to take another look.

I'm just hoping the rumors are true! This would be pretty unprecedented -- they've never offered free dining in February before. Even if they offered the 5/2 deal for values again, the free QS dining would still be a much better deal. Got my fingers crossed!!

7 nights in value season. This is kind of a hypothetical situation, if the rumors are true free dining will be extended to Sept. 2011.

Your trip is almost identical to ours, except we'll be staying 7 nights with deluxe. Though if this deal is true we may be going for 9 or 10 nights!

That doesn't seem quite right but free dining would still be the better deal.

The upgrade cost to DxDDP for 7 nights for 2 people would be $80/per day (QSDP is $31.99 and DxDDP is $71.99 so an extra $40/ppn). That adds $560 to the rack rate of $ 594, for a total of $1154 (not $904).

However, it is still less than the 20% off so I would go with Free Dining.

OK, I'm horrable with #'s and Math. Could someone help me figure this out?

I'm wanting to stay at POP (might consider another depending on the price) from 11-7 and checkout at 11-11. That's 4 nights. Me myself and I. I already have my theme park ticket, but if the saving were right, I could consider what I'd need to do to get extra discount.

Which would save me more $$ or be the better deal? % off or FD? Please explain. I thank you very much!

I know there was something in the rumor that WL might not have the 40% discount so we are willing to change to Poly. I try to run the numbers and it seems that it is better to do a room discount at a deluxe but I am not sure.

At the poly you are probably better off with room discout, especially with 2 rooms. If you are willing to do 5 in a room at the poly, which I believe you can, it would be a lot closer.

unfortunately it has to be 2 rooms. DS and his GF are coming and want their own room. DH, our 8 yr old and I will have the other room. Location is not not that important. But we know we want a deluxe.

Doesn't it actually figure there will be no discounts for my dates of 11-7 thru 11-11-2010!

Maybe that will mean a quiet lower attendamce in the parks stay

I called back....we got 40% off room....the first CM told me 40% off package, which wasn't the right wording....no free dining for my dates. Whew, I'm so glad I called back or I would've worried at work all day long! Good luck out there....I was on hold for an hour and a half the second time calling back!

Yeah... typically in my 7 years of free dining vs % off.. if you stay at a value resort usually it is cheaper to do free dining and if you stay at a deluxe it is typically cheaper to do 40% off. Not sure about mods cause I never price those.. we are usually free dining value peeps!
