Are there usually airline specials for September? When should I look for them?

We have a cruise in September, and I don't know if we are going to want to drive or fly this time. Can we expect to find some good deals on flights around this time? When should we start to see them?

Thanks,
DJ

We just purchased tickets on Delta for October cruise for $180.00 roud trip NH to Orlando.

I usually start looking on travelocity about 120-90 days out. We went to the world last september and got tickets in July for 108 RT from Nebraska to MCO. One day the tickets were over 200 I checked two days later and the price had dropped more than 100 per ticket. It pays to wait and keep checking about every other day.

we are going on the 9/13 western cruise. got RT from denver to MCO on delta for $199/person a few weeks ago. up until that point the pricing was $370-390..now it's at $381/person. just keep checking the web sites.

We went to Disney this past September and I asked a friend of mine who is a travel agent when I should book my airfare (we drive everywhere). She informed me that September is generally a slow month for travel and will usually have some great prices for flights. She said I should wait until between 30-60 days out and check the flight prices everyday. Well, I did and around 45 days out the price went down by half. Naturally those flights booked up very quickly and once you see them, you have to purchase right a way.

We went to WDW 9/22/01. I purchased my tickets around 3-4 months prior to the trip. Of course, about 1-2 months before we traveled the prices dropped. It was cheaper to pay the cancellation fees and buy new tickets at the lower price on a different airline.

September is usually a great month to get great fares. It is just really hard to chose the time in which to buy.

I was looking everyday for two weeks and finally decided to purchase the air for our Las Vegas trip next month. I purchased last Wednesday. I checked the flights yesterday and the flights had dropped $45 per ticket. I called America West and the only thing that they could do for me was to give me vouchers for a future flight.

I talked to my husband last night and we agreed that I could not have waited any longer to purchase the flights if I wanted non stop. I really wish now that I would have waited, but you always run that risk.

I would start looking now and if the flights are what you want and the price that you are willing to pay, I would purchase.
