Are there Scissor/Nail Clipper/Razor Restrictions?

Are there any restrictions as to what you can pack in your carry-on or checked luggage? I was specifically wondering scissors, nail clippers and razors? Is it like the airlines where you have to have it in your checked luggage? :confused3 We're driving to the port, no flight.
Thanks!

Suzy, you will go through a similar security check before being allowed in the terminal, but I would not anticipate any issues with the items you mentioned. I don't recall DW and I having any issues with similar items in our bag. Have fun!

I include pointed tweezers, nail clipers, and a small pair of Fiskers sissors in my first aid kit that I always take with me and never had a problem.

I've taken the first aid kit with me on the carry-on bags (for the ship) and I've had them in my luggage (when we flew and knew I wouldn't be allowed with those items on the plane as carry-on).

However, when I tried to include a typical Swiss Pocket Knife, security would NOT allow me to bring it on board.

Why not pack them in your luggage to make life easier. You don't need them in your carry on anyway. :confused3

It's not like the airlines.

When you fly, there are different rules for carry-on luggage and checked luggage. That's because you have access to the contents of your carry-on luggage, but not to your checked luggage. For example, you can put a big butcher knife into your checked luggage, but you can't have even the smallest pocket knife in the passenger compartment.

However, when you cruise, everything winds up in your stateroom, and you have access to everything. So the same restrictions apply to carry-ons and check luggage.

By the way, nail clippers (including those with nail files) and safety razors (including disposable razors) and rounded-tip scissors (but not pointed scissors) are okay -- even in carry-ons on airplanes.

We had a manicure kit in our luggage which included nail clippers and scissors and had no problems with that coming on board. HOWEVER, we also brought a "leatherman" or "multi-tool" on the recommendation of an ultimate packing list, which was a big no-no. Imagine how I felt to have a message on my stateroom voicemail inviting me down to the security area to open my luggage and take it out. I was able to quickly retrieve it after going through customs when we got back, but I would recommend against bringing anything with a blade.
Interestingly, I also had a swiss army knife packed, but they never said a word about that.

In my case, the Swiss Army Knife was in my carry-on (along with the 1st aid kit) that they x-rayed. The operator quickly noticed the knife and had me remove it.
