Are there really no tables for two?

On our last Disney cruise (June, 2004), my DH, DD and I were assigned a table for three without requesting it. There were also multiple couples around us at tables for two. Although a little disappointed at first, we ended up loving it! We are prompt arrivers and eat fairly quickly. Sometimes DD would scoot off quickly to be with new friends, while DH and I would take our time finishing dessert and coffee. We loved being in total control of the schedule. This time it will just be DH and me, and we asked for a table for two through the Disney Vacation Club. We were told they do not have tables for two. Is this just not done anymore, or should I call the Disney Cruise Line directly and request it. Has anyone seen people at tables for two lately? Thanks in advance for your help. This board is great!

I have never seen any tables for two except for at Palo. If there is space available your head waiter might be able to set something up for you...or you could just enjoy Palo every night. :)
