Are there plans to bringing back the option......reservations

I wish they would align the ADR's with a Fastpass-like Genie+, so I could make dining plans around rides. Waiting until 7am day-of and then trying to fit rides around dining is a mess.

Disney won't do this.....Leave some dining availability for either same day reservations or walk ups.

There hasn't been any indication about that happening. Personally I hope it doesn't so that people aren't forced to decide where they will be dining 6 months from now.
I have most ADR success when looking within 3 days of my travel, even day of since there are so many who book things at 60 days without really knowing what they will want till the time comes.

This scenario is why we are very happy with the G+ modify feature - it makes slight adjustments here and there pretty simple. But I expect everyone views the ADRs and G+ differently, based on their own planning style.....

That being said, I doubt 180 days is ever coming back. But 60 days has been more than enough for us. And for certain restaurants (like Disney Springs), we even get up to 90 days through reservation apps. We certainly used to make our plans 6 months in advance when it was available - but 95% of the time would go back and need to adjust anyway once we finalized all planning closer to our trip.

Same! I make them in advance, but make tons of changes the week of since so much shows available then.

My complaint is with G+, not the availability of ADR's. When I get an ADR 60 days out, I'm pretty much stuck to it. On the day of the ADR, I have to wake up at 7am to get ILL's and my first G+ reservation. They may conflict with the ADR, and as I found with ROTR, all ILL's are gone in five minutes, so no ability to change the time and expect to be able to work around the ADR. When working 60 days out, I could adjust the ADR's made 180 days out after the Fastpass reservations were made fairly easily and without being sleep deprived and under stress at 7am.
