During our recent trip in October we were noticing how the area where you used to board the Sky Ride to Tomorrow Land between "Its a Small World" and Frontier Land, was rather dismal looking and there are, in my opinion, many small attractions that could be put there yet it has been abandoned for some time. Has anyone heard about anything being done here?

Rumors pop up regarding this from time to time, usually concerning a restaurant (which would be very challenging in such a small space) or a character meet and greet area. There has never been any official word and this will probably be one of those places that Disney just decides to ignore and let sit.

I thought it would be an excellent meet and greet area for "Pinnochio" characters given that the themeing already looks like it would fit and there may even be room for a little shop selling puppets etc.

I agree it is an eye-sore. Here is another question. Is the Tomorrowland station still there or is it something else now? Every time I go I mean to look for it but I'm usually running to Space Mountain.

As far as I know, its still there. There are rumnors that eventually it and CoP will be torn down and replaced with a new attraction A revised version of the classic flying saucers attraction of Disneyland's early years was planned for that spot a few years ago, but I haven't heard much about that recently.

Where should I be looking?
Its fairly easy to spot. If you stand facing the Carousel of Progress, its the next building on the left. Look for a white, T shaped building with blue trim and stairs going up to it on one side. Most of the builing it elevated one story above the plaza. It used to have a water fall fountain in front of it, but I beleive they turned that off.

If you PM me your e-mail addess, I can send you some pictures of the building.
