Are there flannel sheets where I won't wake up sweating?

Can anyone recommend flannel sheets that aren't too warm? I know this is an odd request but my husband loves them but I get very warm when I sleep so they just make it worse. I had a light weight pair from Linens and Things but they now have holes. I have bought a pair at Target and Bed Bath and they are just too heavy. Any recommendations?

Thanks!

Well, Walmart's known for cheaply made products! It's a good bet their sheets aren't too thick. :thumbsup2

I feel your pain though... DH likes to sleep in a sauna and I can't even tolerate having the comforter on me.

I remember a few years ago when I was pregnant & almost due. It was December so DH just had to have flannel sheets on the bed & I had proactively put on a waterproof mattress cover in case my water broke in the middle of the night. I can't even tell you how many mornings I woke with the sheets literally wet from all of my sweat.

(waterproof mattress cover was a good idea in the end as my water DID break in the middle of the night! :rolleyes1)

Would he settle for the stretchy knit ones rather than flannel? They get pretty warm (way too warm for me) - but maybe you could tolerate them and they would still be warm enough for him..

And what might also help you is if you could get him to go with a regular top sheet (cooler for you) with the knit one only as the bottom sheet and his pillowcase.. (You could use a regular pillowcase so you wouldn't get as warm..)

It's tough when one is too warm and the other too cold.. I'm a widow now, but I can't even have heat on in the bedroom.. Most times the window is partially opened (even when it's frigid cold outside) and I also have a cool mist humidifier going all night long - blowing right in my face..

Hope you can find something suitable - or at least a compromise that will work for both of you..

Good luck! :goodvibes

ya know what ever I cover up with I wake up sweating, cant figure it out, I googled it once, it said main reason is brain cancer :sad2:, so I closed that window

We just use the flannel top sheet. We use a regular cotton fitted sheet. We both get too hot if the bottom sheet is flannel too.

Give him a flannel top sheet, and put a jersey knitt on the bottom. I prefer jersey over flannel. But both are a bit warmer than standard cotton.

Check out Lands End. They have different weight flannel, 5 oz., 6oz., and organic 4 season flannel which is < 5 oz. I think. The ones made in Portugal are very nice, high quality and last a long time in my experience. They're having a sale w/ 25% off and free shipping over $50 now through Tuesday so a good time to try them.

I love flannel sheets and use them year round! Generally bought Lands' End, LLBean and have gotten some great Disney ones, too. The good ones have lasted many years.

Anyway, pleasantly surprised with WalMart's flannel sheets when I bought some last year - intended mainly as a background for taking some pics color-wise, but used them and have found them to be so good, bought some more.

One of the keys to any set of sheets for me is proper fit so they don't pull up, and quality so they don't rip or fray. These latest ones are both, without being too, too thick. I don't know if that helps the OP (I don't sweat!) but I thought I'd pass it along. The cost is very reasonable, too
