Are there fewer FP available in slow seasons?

We are going the second week of Sept and I tried to move some FP around today and several had zero availability already at 54 or more days out. 7Dwarvs bummed me out but I guess shouldn't surprise me too much. But I was quite surprised there was no availability to move others like Frozen Sing Along, Stories with Belle, Safari at AK, Rapunzel or Cinderella Meets. Do they give out fewer FP during "slow season" due to staffing or is this a sign that early Sept will NOT be slow at all? Or have I just picked the worst parks each day? (I did not pick any non-recommended park based off crowd calendars) I can't believe anyone staying off site will have no choices for this many attractions in early Sept!

I don't think there are fewer it is just that there are fewer. I think it is just the fact that more people are planning for further out with these trips because it is free dinning. I am there the same week and haven't had too many problems switching things but we could be doing different parks on different days.

Weird buddy, the other day I thought the same thing with our end of August/early Sept trip. There are some with no availability that don't make a lot of sense this close to time.

I even tried just moving 2 of us around and still can't get availability for even that small of a party. I thought I'd have some flexibility in the 30-60 day window if I wanted to change things around at all. Guess not.

I wonder if the show type things are actually due to less staffing. Perhaps the show isn't running as many times in the "slow" month.

Safari is popular because it seems to be everyone's must do at AK. The rest some want to do and some don't so they are easier to change but the safari everyone wants.

In fact, Journey into imagination is showing "no fastpasses available" for one of our days. Not that I was picking it, just thought it was weird. "Voyage of the little mermaid" was another.

Exactly. Those are ones I thought one could get as 4th FP same day. What on earth is left as a 4th FP if stuff like Figment is all out prior?

September will not be slow this year. Fall is the new summer at WDW.

We just got back from our mid-July trip yesterday, and crowds were low to medium while we were there. Resort discounts, ADRs and FPs had been very easy to book, even relatively late in the game. That hasn't been your experience so far while planning for this September, has it? That tells you what to expect in terms of crowds.

We are going the 2nd week of Sep as well, 10-17. I see availability for everything. Even for FEA and 7DMT.

The only way I can make myself see unavailability is by trying to book the same attraction twice in one day, ie I have TSMM @ 1 and Frozen Sing Along @ 2.. If I try to modify the TSMM, it shows that FSA has 0 availability because I already have one.

Edit: This is for a party of four (4)

I am wanting to change a Barnstormer FP to 7DMT on the 11th and it says no availability. I do not have 7DMT that day at all. (Party of 2)
I did not think about the fact of it saying no availability for attractions I already had as I thought it would just give me a message about already having that if I clicked it like it does when you try to overlap time slots. So that could explain a couple of the "no availability" issues but not all of them.

7DMT and the parade are the only two not available for that day for a party of 2. It is not uncommon for 7DMT to come up later so keep checking back. The other two listed are under refurbishment during that time.

Yeah I see that now. I only checked for the days we have set at the parks. I do see the 11th with no 7DMT, but I see times for every other one of our park days. I see 5pm+ times on the 12th, 11am & 4pm on the 13th (Party), 7pm+ on 14th, etc.. I assume the 11th and 13th have lower availability because of the party nights.

I wish you luck in finding the right ones though!

Thank you! At least that does make me feel better about crowd levels! I was starting to worry it would be crazy busy if FP were that hard to get already. I'm not expecting it to be an empty park but I really don't want 9/10 crowds with the heat of September. I cannot change park days due to BOG reservations.

I learned that 1 adult cannot ride Barnstormer with 2 small children so my current FP plan does me no good now. I had planned to ride it with my 4 and 2 year old with just the 2 FP but due to ages that won't work. Now I think it'd be better to do it standby all together.
