are there ever ANY deals over Christmas week (20-27)

pins that people are getting seem to end before this time. Has Disney ever offered ANYTHING for Christmas week?

I'm still waiting for some Disney Christmas pixie dust to fall on me to make the vacation I've booked a bit cheaper!

Last year, you could start a package with free dining on the 20th (the Visa free-dining deal). If you started on the 20th, you got the free dining for your length of stay. If this year's deals follow the pin codes that are out there now, however, it may be that the 17th will be the latest you can check in with a package deal. Of course, we won't know until when/if deals are released.

I was able to take advantage of this deal last year - it saved us a lot of money (I think it was upwards of $2,000). From our calculations it was a bit more than free dining, although I admit that is how it was advertised. We stayed from Dec. 20 - Dec. 26 at Wilderness with 5 adults, 2 rooms.

My best guess is that to get this similar discount you would have to start your stay on the 17th this year - a bit more difficult for many (considering the added cost during peak holiday).


But we never know what Disney will do!

We got a group rate through a travel agent. They've got rooms available starting 12/23 at certain resorts only, and we're saving about 35% off rack rate for 12/23-12/28 at the Grand Floridian. But it's not advertised through Disney.

We have been the last two years over that time. and yes there have been specials. however that doesn't mean that there will always be. Not trying to rainon your parade but just being relalistic. They giver of codes can also become the takes or codes, pins and so forth.

Last year we got the pin email for free dining and dummy me deleted it and i run the CCl most days so it was gone for good. I thought it was the usal free dining offered through the fall. Learned a valable lessens read entire message before deleteing. However we were able to use a public code and we only ended paying about 150. for dining in the long room. for a party of 4 dining 6 days.

A travel agent had some rooms at only a few resorts during the holidays. I think our options were the Grand Floridian, the Poly, and CSR if I'm not mistaken. I had to book through the TA.

Well, I got a great pincode, but it seems no one else has it. I called about another pin I had for June, and they told me I had one for 40% off anytime from JUne until Dec. 31st, no black outs.I asked that the pin 's name was and they didn't know. I booked for Christmas week arriving Dec. 25th. I think I got this pin shortly after registering my DH's b-day at their website, although his b-day is in June.

I'm new to these boards, but we are big WDW lovers. Living in Tampa makes it very easy to get our Disney "fix" but as my kids grow up it is getting harder and harder to get away for a few days.

Our last trip was in October 2008, and we stayed at Carribbean Beach, had a great time!

We have been contemplating a trip just before Christmas because my SIL and her two little ones are coming from another state. They have never been to WDW and we thought it would be a good time for all. Normally, this late in the game I would not be thinking there would be any rooms available, being holiday time.

Boy, was I wrong!

I got an email today from Disney with a PIN code and ended up getting two new Pirate rooms for $157 a night from Dec 20 through 22. Not only is that a steal, but it is even more unprecedented due to this being August already and normally I would have no shot at ANY room, let alone moderate resorts.

I commented to the agent the Disney must be really feeling the economic pinch these days to have rooms available for that time as well as for that price. He agreed!

Anyway, don't give up hope for deals- you just never know. I'd keep calling and take my chances.

When you call for to check any PINS related your name/address...do you call a special number? I had a few offers this year, but deleted them and now my husband has decided we will be in Florida for the Holidays and can go to Disney 12/20-12/24.

That was what I was going to suggest, because we ended up getting a better deal with the AP discount which are usually the same price as the FL Resident Rate.

There is currently a room rate special going on through December 24. You can get a discounted rate for those dates. Magical Vacations (the TA referred to by the previous poster as having group rates) does offer a discounted rate (approx 35% off rack rate) for select rooms at select resorts from December 23 to January 2.

I called two yesterday and they were much higher in price than what I was receiving...
