Are there Disney restaurants that serve traditional Southern desserts?

Just wondering if I'll be able to get sweets such as banana pudding, peach cobbler, pound cake, sweet potato pie, red velvet cake, etc. while at Disney this Thanksgiving. If so, where?

Thanks,

NL

Boatwright's at Port Orleans Riverside has bananas foster and pecan pie. 50's Prime Time cafe has seasonal fruit cobbler.

You might be able to find some of the cakes at the bakeries (Main Street at MK, Boardwalk Bakery and Starring Rolls at DS), resort food courts and at Sunshine Seaons counter service in Epcot.

I don't know about Thanksgiving, but House of Blues has southern food. Olivia's at OKWest has some traditional Florida cuisine (Which is southern, but maybe not 'southern'.) I think as the holiday gets closer, you will be ableto find an announcement of the Thanksgiving menus that will be abvailable. Mind, by then of course, it will be too late. You can try calling Disney dining directly to ask.

Garden Grill in Epcot does a decent strawberry-rhubarb cobbler(ish) with vanilla ice cream.

Crystal Palace in MK often has banana pudding - and they have a good bread pudding too, which is not southern per se but still pretty good.

Whispering Canyon has a pretty good bourbon pecan pie.

Thanks y'all! I guess I'll be making a banana pudding tonight. I was trying to save my sweet tooth for our trip in 3 weeks, but that's not going to happen.

WHile I think it's great that you want to make a certain dessert before you go.....and while as I said, finding those PARTICULAR desserts at WDW may be tricky....there is no shortage of fabulous desserts at WDW!

If you will be dining at any signature locations, the desserts are often the highlights of the meals. At the signature locations, (think 2 credits on Dining Plan) the options change seasonally, so there's little point in any of us saying what was in a given location on a given date, cuase the choices are likely to change before you go.

Another place that comes to mind is Kouzzina. Kouzinna is Cat Kora's place at the Bwk. It's not fully 'southern' it's Greek/Southern fusion cuisine - but especially come the holiday's it may well have offerings that are to your liking.

If it's yummy desserts onthe go you crave: consider these fine locations: Main ST Bakery, Starring ROlls in HS, Kringla Og Bakery in Norway in Epcot, The France bakery In Epcot (I usually prefer Norway myself, but both have tasty treats), the Boardwalk Bakery, The Villians shop in HS (Small treat area, but some yummy treats), The Goofy Candy place in DTD, the 'CAndy Cauldron in DTD (Sucha cute theme), at any ice cream cart - get a Mickey Bar! Mickeybar: And those are just a few....

Around Thanksgiving, many places are likely to have special Christmas holiday offerings available. A fun special place to try is the gingerbread house in the Grand Floridian! It is big enough to be a small gift shop!

Our favorite southern dessert is the beignets at Port Orleans French Quarter! But, buffets are usually the best places for those kinds of desserts.

Just checked, and House Of Blues offers White Chocolate Banana Bread Pudding - Served with Jack Daniels Whiskey sauce, whipped cream and a caramel halo. - $6.99, hope that helps!

I am looking forward to trying many different desserts and snacks while at WDW. So glad we decided to purchase the DDP. There's going to be a lot of good eating that week for our family.

Thanks!

Oh then most certianly you would be wise to check out some of the places I list!
