I called up CR and spoke to a CM that told me the 7/4 was a "deal" avail to people who applied for a disney visa...(I think it was a couple months ago)...and since I applied last Dec. I was not able to use this deal. It seems that I keep reading about people getting these great 7/4 deals who have just applied for them.

What's the scoop?? Can I get this deal or not? I this 7/4 a room rate or hotel and ticket? soooo  Please help.

The application had to be in Feb and by March 31st with booking by 4/30/04. The 7/4 deal is a room and UPH that is discounted. You pay for 4 nights, but stay for 7.

thanks for the reply. I called visa to apply in early march and I was told I no 7/4 offered. I don't like when the correct info isn't given out. This has also happened c a CM at CR and I lost out on my AP rates (now not avail) by 150.00 off total trip. I think that is a good chunk of $$. Well, thanks again for the reply.
:)

I applied for the card in Feb and we already had a card and when we were approved we booked the 7/4 deal once we had the card. The final application date must be by 3/31 which is coming up here very fast!

If you have DV already, have you tried the room only codes for DV listed on www.mousesavers.com

I have a DV and used the CTV rate it was better than the BBY by a little. I think I will apply for a new DV now and hope for a better deal. My deal now is a total of $ 2,988.00 Poly - concierge for 8 nights in early May. Do you think the 7/4 would be a better deal?? I'm sooo excited about my vacation but this is a lot!!!!!of money for us.

It depends if that price includes the UPH tickets or not.

To find out what the 7/4 deal would cost, go to the Disney website and put in the Dream Maker Package and put in 4 nights. That would be the cost for the 7 nights. This is the room, UPH, $100 Disney dollars and a couple other things.

You could break up your stay and stay in a moderate for 3 or 4 nights then move over to the Poly. The CTV rate is really not much more than the AP rate. We have 2 Poly concierge rooms for 5 nights. AP room is $1812 and CTV room is $1868.
The 7 for 4 deal does incl. UPH and CTV is room only rate. It doesnt hurt to call and get a quote for the 7 for deal just to compare. If its a better deal then go 7 for 4 and just do the 1 extra day on the CTV code at either the same resort or maybe stay at a moderate your first night then move over to the Poly for the 7 for 4 deal.

I'm having trouble getting the 7/4 deal. every time I apply they tell me I can't get that deal. Only certain people were given the opp to apply. Is this true or false ?????

In my research, it appears that the 7/4 deal was only for people who received a direct mail offer. However, if you call, you still may be able to use the code to get the deal.

In your case bhillier, it might not work since you were already a DV card holder.

I have read on this and other sites that others are being told they do not meet the criteria for the deal even though they were approved and applied for the card before 3/31 (which was the original parameters for the deal). Maybe Bank One/Disney has decided to stop offering the package early?

Is it Disney or Bank One that is telling you that you are not eligible? I know that other posters have had to call back several times to CRO to get a CM that understood that they (the CM) had to call Bank One directly to get verification of eligiblity...maybe the CMs you have spoken with are not experienced? If it is Bank One telling you you are not eligible, I am afraid you may be out of luck.....

By the way, we did not orginially receive the offer but when we called about it we were eligible to receive it, so I think there is some inconsistency on this from Bank One as well.

Sending Pixie Dust your way in hopes you are able to qualify for the deal!

thank you for the info. its bank one saying no go. They say I had to rec a code in the mail to get the deal. I think I'll try one last time (just because it's such a great deal) again, thank you for your in put it helps with the frustration Im feeling. :)

This is my first post. This discussion group has helped me so much in planning my first trip to WDW in August. I would like to return the favor.

I too applied for the Disney Visa in February. As soon as I received the credit cards, I called to activate them and then asked to speak to customer service. I asked if I qualified for the 7/4, sometimes called the acquisition promotion, discount. The representative put me on hold and then came back and told me that we did NOT! I told her that we had applied for the card because of that promotion, intimating that we would send the card back if we did not get it. I asked her on what basis we did not qualify for the offer since we had applied in February and we were going to book before the deadline? She put me on hold again and when she came back she told me that she had made a mistake, we DID qualify! I asked if we needed a code since we did not have a postcard and she said that we did not because Disney had a list of all of those people who qualified for the offer.

A few days later I called Disney travel and made our reservations. There was no problem getting the 7/4 deal. They just had to check the numbers on our card to be sure that they were on the list. I got the confirmation letter yesterday and the code that they use is ZXRA / ZXRA-Disney's Visa Feb ACQ DM. Keep in mind that I have never ever received any kind of postcard or notice of this discount in the mail so don't be afraid to ask for it even if you don't receive a postcard, providing that you applied for and were granted the card during the promotion period. Existing card holders do not qualify.

FYI: We booked a standard room at one of the moderate resorts with the dream maker package. Total cost for two adults for 7 nights and the dream maker package including UPH tickets was $1,194.04. That saved us a bundle!

My advice is that if Disney Visa still says no, go ahead call and speak to Disney travel. If you get a knowledgeable person, they should be able to tell you if you qualify for the discount. My guess is that you do. When I called Disney Travel I said that I wanted to speak to someone who was familiar with the 7/4 promotion because I would be using that.

Good luck!
