Hi! Long time WDW vet here. I'm used to using crowd calendars like easywdw.com to help me pick vacation dates. Are there similar calendars for DLR? I'm thinking of going late September/early October, and wanted to get some info about that timeframe.

TIA!

Yes and no...there are crowd calendars, but none are universally thought of as being "good" or the "best". The ones most commonly mentioned are Touring Plans (paid) and IsItPacked (free). I'd take both with a grain of salt.

In terms of late September and early October, it really depends on when you are planning on going. Assuming 2015 is something like 2014, then HalloweenTime should be in full swing. It's a pretty popular "season", so I'd expect moderate-moderately high crowds on weekends and low-to-moderate crowds on weekdays. The first weekend in October is when Gay Days occurs and the second weekend is Columbus Day weekend (3-day weekend) plus CHOC walk (usually). Both of those tend to result in high crowds. By the end of September, MHP should have started, which usually occurs on Friday plus at least one other weekday (varies). We do not know if the parties will being DL or DCA this year.

I'd follow along with the HalloweenTime SuperThread for more information about HalloweenTime.

I also have a 2015 Calendar of Events & School Breaks and DLR thread that tracks some of the bigger events that might impact crowds in DLR.

This is great info! Thank you! I'm leaning toward taking a long weekend September 24 through 28. Even though I know that the weekends would be more crowded than the weekdays, I'd be okay with that. And it might be fun to do a Halloween event at DLR - I've been to MNSSHP at WDW and loved it! Would be fun to do Disneyland's version!

Thanks again.

There is a lot of uncertainty about this year MHP. For the last several years, it's been over in Disneyland, but there are rumors that it's moving back to DCA this year. If that happens, I expect a fair amount of changes because some of the major elements cannot be moved to DCA (e.g., HMH and SMGG, Halloween Screams Fireworks). I'm hopeful that if they do move the parties to DCA this year, they will do a good job making DCA seem more Halloween-ish.
