I don't anticipate the need of a computer, but I want to avoid using my phone and wonder if I need to check e-mail, are there computers that can be used on a pay as you use basis?

Thanks :)

I believe I've read that there are a limited number of laptops that can be checked out from Guest Services on the Dream & Fantasy. At least there used to be. Don't know if they've stopped having them.

According to the FAQs on the DCL website, for the Promenade Lounge on the Magic and Wonder:
Internet Café
For an added fee, surf the Internet or check email at the Internet café conveniently located next to Promenade Lounge. Open 24 hours a day, the café includes 16 computer terminals to link you to the outside world. For more information, contact Guest Services or a Connect@Sea representative once onboard the ship

Magic had computers (Internet Cafe) in May....I think they are still there. There were about 10 of them. Same as the Wonder. Deck 3 adjacent to the Promenade Lounge.

If you bring your own laptop, can you access wifi at the internet cafe? Is there a fee? (On the Wonder)

You can access the wifi anywhere on the ship, you don't need to go to the internet café to get the signal. Yes, there is a fee. If you sign up on day one (embarkation day) they were offering 50mb free. Once you use that (or if you forget to sign up for it) there are different level packages you can purchase based on your anticipated use of wifi.

Won't I be subject to fees from my carrier tho' too? I think with Verizon, I have to sign up for a $25 a day package for cruising.

If you're just using WiFi on your laptop, tablet, smart phone, etc., you should not incur any charges from your cellular provider. WiFi is completely different than cell service. If your device does have cellular connection capabilities (most laptops don't, but many tablets and all smart phones do), you will want to ensure that you have that feature turned off to avoid any unwanted charges.

There is a dedicated person that can help you get set up with the ship's wifi. The desk is open certain hours, but he/she will assist you with your devices so you don't accidentally use cellular service or eat up all your data package in an hour.
