I never looked for them on our last cruise, but on the 14 day Panama Canal cruise I think we'll be interested in playing cards or board games. Are they available on the Magic or do you have to bring your own?

Well, board games are available if you are in a Cat. 1, 2 or 3. Other than that, I think you'd have to bring your own. HTH.

In the sports bar (I forget the name of it...its on beat street though and they have tvs lol) they have games like chess, backgammon, and checkers. But other than that you have to bring your own. It's also open during the day to all ages and there is barely anyone in there.

They also have some games available in Cove Cafe I believe. I'll have to double check with DD.

We always bring out own cards as we enjoy playing. I have to say, we were very disappointed in the Magic when we cruised with them 4 years ago, they do not have a beautiful card and game room like on other ships. Not stopping us from sailing with them again, but if you're thinking of the card rooms there are on other cruise ships there is none like that on the Magic.

That would be Diversions! :)

That's too bad about the cards. We sailed Celebrity in January and you could ask Guest Services for decks of cards and receive as many decks as you wanted. It was a great souvenir as well.

kpgclark: That card room on Celebrity is one of the nicest of any of the ships we have sailed. It really spoiled us.

We sailed on the Millennium to the southern Caribbean in January (my parents watched the children) and it was a beautiful ship. Our room was fantastic too with an oversized balcony. We love Celebrity.

DCL has a "card room/game room/library" on deck 2 but it is a poor excuse for same. When we looked in it was just a small room with a table and a few paperback books on the shelves.

There are games in the kids clubs for them to use. When our DD was quarantined, they offered us a list of games, and brought the ones we wanted to our stateroom. I think they came from the conceirge though.

When we sailed the Wonder in February, we asked at Guest Services if we could purchase a deck of cards. They gave one for free!

Several cruises ago, the library on deck 2 was well stocked with games and books. On our most recent cruise, it was rather lacking. Not sure if guests had been helping themselves or what.....

Are the cards just plain or are they DCL cards?

On our recent cruise on the Wonder (June 20-24) there were lots (like 7-10) games in the Promenade Lounge/Bar area just setting there for anyone to use. I remember seeing Mad Gab, Pictionary, Trivial Pursuit, Sorry, and Trouble. There were several others I can't remember and I did see several families playing there on Nassau day. Hope this info helps!!!
