Are there AP discounts? Ugrading an AP with DVC discount

We are buying into DVC and we are going to get AP's. We are going to disney jan 1st - 8th. we already booked. And we wanted to add the DDP to our ressie but don't need tickets. Can we get the 8day ticket and upgrade to AP for the difference in price?

If we bought two AP's prior to the DVC discount. If we want to get the discount I need to upgrade the regular AP to the AP Premium, right?

Is it true that they will give you the discount if you upgrade the AP's

Has anyone done this and how much does it cost to upgrade?

And where do I have it done?

Also are there room discounts with AP's and if so How do I use it?

Are you saying you have AP's and are going to get 8 day tickets? If you are trying to use 2 tickets per person to upgrade to 1 premium AP per person, this is not allowed. You can only use 1 ticket per new/upgraded ticket. Sorry if I misunderstood.

You can use a ticket to upgrade to a DVC discounted ticket.

So if we bought an 8 day ticket so that we could get the DDP on out stay( In january) we could upgrade those to the AP's and once we get in the system up grade those to AP premiums with DVC discount.

What they want to do is book a package with the dining plan and 8 day tickets, then the day they check in, go to a guest services or somewhere and upgrade the 8 day tickets to APs.

I don't know about that (I would think it's possible but never tried it myself) but you do know that you can't book the dining plan with an AP discount, so you can't use both when you book future trips. AP discounts have historically been room only and can't be used to book packages.

You can book a dining plan package with a one-day base ticket and use that on one day instead of the APs, or I think you can keep the one day base and add it to your AP renewal if you want to renew.
