Are there any supermarkets near the Lake Buena Vista Factory Stores Outlet?

I will be at Bonnet Creek for 2 weeks starting 7/9 and will need to do a food shopping. Not one of the 4 adults in my group knows how to drive so renting a car is out of the question.

I know I can take a cab, but there is a free shuttle from Bonnet Creek to the Lake Buena Vista Factory Stores located at 15657 State Road 535. I figured if there was a supermarket close by I can take the free shuttle to get there and then take a cab back to Bonnet Creek when I am done food shopping.

Have you looked into any of the services that will deliver groceries ? I have seen various post about ordering groceries and have them delivered to a Disney hotel.I would think Bonnet Creek might be a location they would also deliver to.The Garden Grocer is the one I have read about on the Dis.Plus I think Walmart may also have a service.

We just placed an order with Garden Grocer to be delivered to our resort. Prices were very reasonable, an of course it was super convenient. They responded to me within 20 minutes of placing my order. Very nice.

Off-topic, I'm surprised there are 4 people and not one of them drives!

Are you sure there is still a free shuttle to the outlet? I know starting a few months ago Bonnet Creek started charging for the shuttles to the parks ($5.00 per person per round trip). They are also now charging for the shuttle that takes you over to Universal and Sea World. We were at Bonnet Creek last month (May 10th-20th) and the schedule we were given when we checked in showed a fee for all shuttles anywhere (however, since we had a car, I really just glanced at it, so didn't notice a particular shuttle mentioned for the outlets).

By the way, you are going to love Bonnet Creek. I don't think I'd want to stay there without a car though.

The shuttle going to the Lake Buena Vista Factory Stores is still free. I called them to check it out. The shuttle isn't offered by Bonnet Creek. All the shuttles offered by Bonnet Creek have the $5.00 r/t fee and the SeaWorld, Universal and Orlando Premium Outlets are higher priced.

No matter what hotel I stay at, I won't have a car. No one in my family knows how to drive. Bonnet Creek seems to be a nice timeshare with a lot of pools and entertainment for kids. Even though we will be going to some of the parks, most of them will be for only one day so we wanted a resort with enough to do on the grounds that we wouldn't get bored.

No matter what hotel you stay at now, most don't have free shuttles and if they do, it is only to the theme parks that are very close. Two years ago, I stayed at Star Island and they didn't have any free shuttles at all. They didn't even have a shuttle that cost $5.00 round-trip.

I was just trying to find out if there were any supermarkets close to the LBV Factory Stores so I can get there by the free shuttle, go shopping and then take a cab back to Bonnet Creek when I am done.

I have priced Garden Grocer and I think that they are way overpriced. I think even though I would have to pay for a cab coming and going to a supermarket it would still come out cheaper for me going to a supermarket than placing an order through Garden Grocer.

It looks like about five miles each way from Bonnet Creek to the Lake Buena Vista Outlets. A taxi is about $2.65 per mile, plus idle time (lights, heavy traffic) and tip. That makes Garden Grocer's $12 service charge, even with their somewhat high standard prices, and We Go Shop's $17 charge with the flexibility of allowing the customer to choose the store, bargains.

If you still choose to shop yourself, there's something called Kash & Karry Supercenter on tge same street as the outlet - at 13400 compared to tge approximate 14400 location of the LBV Outlets. But if you're going to do your own shopping, take the taxi. Lake Buena Vista Outlets provides the free shuttle for its customers.

Thanks for the info on Kash & Karry. I was palnning on shopping at the Outlet first and then go grocery shopping. That is why I wanted to know if there was a supermarket near the outlet.

I don't know of I'd consider it near, given the likely 500 addresses between the two implied by the difference in street numbers (as well as how far apart the two locations seem on a keyless map). Volume also needs to be considered, as does weight, and how well perishable items will hold up during that walk.

There is a Super Walmart that I would consider to be within walking distance of LBVFO. I imagine it is less than a mile, but you would have to cross 535, which can be very busy. If you leave the outlets and head to the left on 535, walk a few blocks and you will see the Walmart sign across the road from you. It is a fairly small sign and the way the Walmart sits back off the road it is not easy to see if you are driving by, but it may be easier to spot if you are walking. It will be just before you get to North Poinciana Blvd. if you do a satellite view of the area on mapquest, you can easily pick out the outlet mall and Walmart.

Personally, I would pay the $17 fee for WeGoShop to pick up the groceries for you. I understand that they will shop wherever you want them to, so that will give you more control over the price of the groceries. You're probably going to pay $17 for a taxi anyway, and you would save yourself a lot of hassle.

Not sure the info on the Kash and Karry is correct-I think they all closed. There was one near the Chik Fil a on 535, but no way would I walk it from the outlet.

As someone else posted there is a Walmart across the street and down aways. I really would not recommend walking there. That road can be rather challenging in a car-let alone walking.

I was just over that way today and can't think of another grocery in the area (walking distance).

If you REALLY want to walk you could take the shuttle from Bonnet Creek to DTD. At the end of Hotel Plaza is a Goodings grocery. (high prices). But atleast you would have sidewalks.

I second this. Orlando/Kissimmee has the highest rate of pedestrian deaths in the country (http://usatoday30.usatoday.com/news...st-of-most-dangerous-cities-pedestrians_n.htm) and that stretch along 535 is a perfect example of why this problem exists. No sidewalks. High speeds. Lots of tourist drivers who are distracted and don't know where they are going. Many entrances and exits onto the street from shopping centers and hotels, every one of which is an opportunity for a pedestrian to be hit by a car while crossing the driveway. Very few pedestrian crossings with traffic lights.

There is NO WAY I would consider walking along there, much less crossing that street (which is 6 lanes across, by the way).
