Are there any other unattached lodging options besides FW cabins and Poly bungalows?

We stayed in a FW cabin last year and loved it. DH liked taking a break from crowds and having quiet time and our kiddos are young so they enjoyed some peace too. DS3 also gets up at sunrise so it was kinda nice not worrying about him banging on any hotel room walls and waking up the whole floor! Is there any other unattached lodging besides cabins? I know poly has bungalows now but we're not DVC and I'm sure they're out of our price range anyways. TIA!

You don't have to be DVC to rent a Treehouse Villa at SSR or a cabin at Copper Creek or the Poly. There's a limited amount of inventory from the DVC resorts available for booking by the general public, just like any other Disney resort. You'll find them on Disney's site as Deluxe Villa resorts.

And you're right, they're going to cost a whole lot more than a FW cabin. The SSR treehouse villa will be the "cheapest" of the lot, roughly twice as much as a FW cabin.

You can reduce the cost pretty substantially by renting a reservation from a DVC member. See our DVC/Rent Trade board for owners looking to rent, or you can use a service like dvcbyrequest.com.

I heard the Poly bungalow prices are insanely high. For 3 of us, I think they quoted me around $20K for a 10 night stay. :faint:

Thank you I'll look into these options but yikes I didn't realize how much more expensive they would be! We were perfectly happy in a cabin at FW so I'm not sure I can justify changing resorts and paying so much more when we really like the cabins! I'm going to check copper creek we stayed at WL lodge once in a standard room and love the themeing

Depending on the season, they're around $2500/night. You don't get much of a discount on a bungalow even if you rent points from a DVC member.

I'd love to meet a DVC member who has that many points in the first place:-) one of the CMs at the DVC advertisement location in the Canada Pavilion said the down payment on a membership for a week in peak season on the Bungalows was $330,000 for ~1400 points.

I haven't tried. We did get a grand villa at GF for 5 nights last month, all from the same owner. That surprised me!

A lot of DVC members book 1-2 nights, but there are certainly deeds recorded for nice hunks of points at Poly, in the 500-750 range.
