Are there any movies you just CAN'T watch?

Hostel. I tried watching but no.
Human Centipede. I like horror movies but I will never watch this or any like this. Just sick.

Also:
Schindlers List
Diary of Anne Frank
Beaches
The Elephant Man

All good and hard to watch.

I don’t tend to watch horror movies but will watch with the whole family and if there is a kid spend the whole time asking “is the child going to die?” They tend to quit asking me to watch them.

Two odd ones are Officer and a Gentleman. I cannot STAND the scene where the drill Sargent is telling Richard Gere to quit and he starts yelling and crying”I got no where else to go!” So because of that one scene, I don’t watch.

The other one is the Clint Eastwood movie where he is a preacher or maybe he is pretending to be a preacher. Anyway, toward the end he leaves and the little girl runs out and screams to the mountains “I love you, Preacher!” It makes me cringe so I don’t watch that one either. Dh loves the movie.

Sleepers, Deliverence, that pattern hard to take.

I believe that’s Pale Rider

I answered quickly before, with an easy one for me (dead dog stories) but "scary" movies are on my list too...in a far more complicated way. - I don't usually watch them at all, but there are some I love (like Jaws). Most of it is how far away from reality they are - and the farther the better, in my opinion. Movies where it's the hero against the big, bad alien, fine. But movies where people go crazy and do awful things, they creep me out a lot more. (The other part of the dividing line for me is "gore for the sake of gore" - that's just not my thing. I think remakes with bigger special effects budgets are usually worse than the originals.)

I have also been reading more responses today, and I agree with the folks who said Schindler's List. I watched it once in the theater, because it was an important movie, and I thought it was very well done. I'm glad I saw it - once. But I definitely wouldn't just put it on TV in the background like I would a lot of movies. It's just too much emotion.

....any of the Saw movies.....or those Chuckie movies....

I don't see many movies; just not a fan of going to the movies. Of course, there are lots of movie types that I avoid:

Anything supernatural
Slasher movies- but mostly because they are dumb (NO, take the car and leave, don't go into the boathouse to see what the creepy noise is about!)
Anything with extreme personal violence or abuse- I don't do movies about prisons very well, or anything where people are abusing others... I'm OK with most war movies, though.
Most super hero movies (although I make occasional exceptions here... they don't bother me like the other two types do; I just don't enjoy them). I also am not a big fan of animal movies just because I don't enjoy them.

Badly acted ones and ones with really ridiculous storylines, and Showgirls tops both of those lists.

Yeah, I think it is. I am not much for Clint Eastwood westerns anyway but that girl's voice just puts me over the edge. LOL Dh thinks its hilarious that I won't watch a movie because of one scene but I also have some movies that I will sit and rewatch just to see my favorite scene so maybe I am just odd all the way around! :rotfl:

Other than slasher/horror movies, The Boy in the Striped Pajamas.:sad1::sad2:

I've never seen Requiem for a Dream, but now I kind of want to lol.

Don't get me wrong, I kind of respect it as it plays on the emotions so much - it's a VERY clever movie - but it's like flogging yourself to watch it!

I'm not into hack and whack movies, even if my oldest DS was born on Friday the 13th the debut day for the Friday the 13th movies. :scared1:

Slasher gory horror movies- ick
Realistic war movies- too sad
Holocaust movies- way too sad
Child dying/murdered movies- too, too sad
Most superhero movies- silly
