Are there ANY discounts for October 11-16 this year (2012)?

We have been to WDW the past 6 years, staying at a value resort. We booked before the free dining plan applied to our dates, then the dining went free.

Last year we upgraded to the deluxe dining plan, and applied the cost of the QS free dining as a discount on the deluxe. Worked great!

This year we have NO discounts. What did I do wrong? Soooo, if anyone knows of any way to make this more affordable, at a very basic level, I would appreciate it greatly!

As another poster said, we may just have to forfeit our WDW stay, get a house and go to the beach. That would be sad. : (

Can you call back and apply the free dining? I don't like free dining; I like room only discounts. I am keeping my fingers crossed that sometime very soon, those will be announced for your dates (and mine). Right now I have a meager AAA discount at WL and will call to apply the new discount IF one comes out. But I'm GOING to Disney! Oh, yeah...

Goofy, our dates don't qualify for free dining this year. We fall right, smack in the middle of when it's offered.

CM to see if there is anything we can do, and she said there isn't. SOOO, I have removed the deluxe dining plan, which, to me, is a lose/lose situation. Bummer.

I really wanted to be able to pay for our dining before we get there because I can put that on a credit card that my hubby isn't familiar with. Now we will be paying OOP and he is so cheap it defies description. He will expect to share a QS between 4 people.

I am in tears thinking about it! Just got back from a 'vacation' where he had us sleeping in a tent on the ground.... Squeak. Squeak. Squeak.

The only thing you could do is change your dates to start when there is free dining.

This is one reason we changed our reservations from that week in Oct to Sept 14th-21st...because nothing was being offered for that week. I heard and read, a lot have their Fall break that week also, so on top of no discounts, it sounds like it could be busy.

Who is your airfare through? We always go SW so when we have to change our flight we aren't penalized we either pay the difference or in our case this time around, we were given a credit!

We use to fly AirTran and if your flight times have changed at all they would allow us to change our flights. Check into the times. Hope you get to move and add free dining

Could you do the regular dining plan? It should be close (I think?) to the same cost as the deluxe would have been with the free QS added to it, and you'd get a QS and a TS per day.
