are there any deals for solo travelers?

No more than for anyone else.

For the last part of the year (well, at least most of it) Disney is offering either a room discount (as room only or part of a package) and free dining.

As a solo traveler, if you are staying at a value, free dining may be the better discount for you (but you are best to run the numbers) but at the moderate level and above, the room discount (either room only or as part of a package) is the better savings.

That's true; I take the room discount, because you are paying 175% of the room rate.

But quite frankly, for traveling alone, it is still an affordable trip for me. I feel very safe there and with the ME and RAC, I don't have to struggle with my bags by myself.

I am paying for convenience......

I did not have to pay supplemental for the room rate. POR is going for $94 a night whether one or 4 in a room. Staying there for a few days in Sept. Paid rack rate for ASM and got free dining.

Disney doesn't charge pp so you wouldn't be paying 175% of the room rate. You pay for the room unless there are more than 2 adults, in which case they would charge around $15 per night per extra adult. They do charge more if you are taking a cruise though. I've gone twice solo and I've only paid the rate they offered to anyone.
